So, about an hour ago, I recieved this email from GamingGrids, Inc telling me my account had just been created.

Except I've never even known about their existence. The email also had my complete name on it and looks like an actuall 'your account has been created!' Email.

I've yet to contact them to try and clarify things, but I'd like to know what you guys think of it.

Do any of you have any experience with Gaming Grids or has had to deal with a similar issue regarding them?

Do they ask you to go to a web page and enter something to log onto your account?

Strange. On https://www.gaminggrids.com I don't even see an option to register. This is pretty suspicious.

huh I got the same email: I was wondering what it was about. Only thing that happend with registration on my end was I made a square enix account for Final Fantasy XIV... But i don't really think they are related.

Umm... just ignore it? Could be some kind of phishing mail. Just make sure not to click on any suspicious links, or download any files.

Actually, no.

They say there's no confirmation needed, except in the future for password change and other similar stuff.
Sounds like someone sold your personal information.
I signed up on this site just to post to this thread. I too received one of these emails, to my surprise. I use a unique email address for each entity I give an email address too. I've found this helpful in detecting the source of spam and situations like this.

Assuming my (our) personal information was sold, or stolen, the email address they contacted me through is the one I used when I bought Rise of the Triad through Steam 7 months ago. That's the only thing I've used that email address for.
I received the game e-mail too today... I'm glad i'm not the only one with this issue. At this point i decided to change my e-mail address and look further into this episode.

That's interesting, because I got Rise of the Triad from here. So... did these guys get our info from the RotT guys?
I have RotT too, and i think they registered us to that site..... i think they used the e-mail i used to register for their online platform because i have another address for Steam....
I have rise of the triad too.....
I've got this mail too, also with information I provided elsewhere, but unluckily I cannot say where, because I used this multiple times. But it is also possible, that the information is from the RoT servers as I used this mail adress there.

As do I.
I have RoTT (2013) from here and didn't get an e-mail. Not that I've ever got around to downloading and playing it. *Glances at new post above but one* Oh, the multiplayer servers request an e-mail address, do they? As well as the serial number? Presumably I dodged that bullet.
