Found these old CD-ROMs at my parents' several months ago and decided to scan them in and share in case anyone wants the nostalgia fix or something. I have the magazines, but didn't bring them back with me.

I found PC Gamer #2 and #3, but not #1.

I remember trying out the System Shock demo and not being impressed, but I think that was because my system couldn't quite handle it.

Anyone else have some cool gaming-related relics laying around? Doesn't have to be big box editions, etc, etc, but those certainly count.

(Yes, I'm aware that there are probably dozens of these types of threads, but didn't feel like try to search for one to necro it. Or if you want, point me to that thread...)

I see your PC Gamer demo discs, kind sir, and I raise you...

Sad thing is that probably 6-7 years ago I recycled all the issues. I wish I had kept them.

I might be too young to ever seen those, but that is beautiful.

Very nice.

I don't even remember why I got these two magazines. I don't normally buy magazines...

I had a PC Gamer subscription for a couple years. It was great to read previews/reviews, try out demos, etc. That was my favorite part of gaming in the 90s - playing demos.

Do you have a whole lot of the magazines? I can remember one magazine that had a top x of every genre, and i think it had guybrush threepwood on the front cover, but it was blue atleast. Could have been another magazine like pc format. Should be from around 1995/1996.

Yeah, that's exactly why I had my subscription for so long, but after awhile the magazine changed their format and I canceled it. The thing that most irked me was they starting carrying Xbox and PS gaming articles even though it clearly states on the cover this is PC Gamer.
I still remember trying to play the System Shock 2 demo. I loved the game, but I really couldn't play the game with my computer and the bugs that were in the demo. I never bought the game back then, but am enjoying the copy I bought from GOG.
All of my disks are packed away and I've lost most of the goodies I've gotten over the years (the pewter Ordinator from Morrowind and the awesome map from Redguard being two that I miss a lot). I did have this laying around though. I'm not sure if it is of interest or not, but thought I'd share.

I didn't photo all sides of it but I'm sure you get the idea.

I had to google it myself to make sure I hadn't received my pre-order from the ethers so many years ago. For a moment I wasn't sure, Diablo II Magic Cube Babbages would just return results on the Horadric cube. Magicube as one word nailed it though. Apparently, at least one other person still has one. Here's a video of someone demonstrating it:

I had about the first 25 issues of Amiga Power, and a ton of cover floppies, but all gone now. About the only artifact I have of note is this one. That's one of the few magazines where one of my games made it onto a cover CD. (No, not Bioshock, my game is Cartouche.)
This is the oldest that I've found.

There's a neat gaming store/museum twenty minutes from my house with a fairly impressive collection:
http://www.digitpress.com/store/

Still considering what I should buy from there next time I go.
