Any fellow Norwegians remember the magazines we had in the 90s?
TEKNA was one I believe. I think there was one before that too, that I actually subscribed to. I would love to find some of the old issues again, but it looks like they've all vanished by now.
Conversely, if you should have a bunch of them in an acceptably readable state, I might actually be willing to buy them.

Can't say I ever noticed a bias. Not sure what would lead to such a thing a anyway.
A lot of people have called them out for being too stuck up, or for scoring favorite games low. But I thought it made a nice contrast from every other game mag out there, which used to be written for 12 year old boys, and give 95% to any game that was on the cover.
I haven't agreed with all their reviews, but then i never do with any site/mag. They didn't seem any worse than others. Even though the PC made up only about 15% of their writing, and at the time i only had a pc, I used to enjoy reading about all the other consoles just as much.
They were also the only mag that pointed out when games were mediocre. Every other mag seemed to feel that an ok game was 90% and an all time classic was 95% ;-)
I always wanted to be their cover designer... he was awesome, whoever he was/is.

I used to read Super Play (I loved that magazine) at it's latter iterations when I was a kid and the occasional issue of PC Gamer. I very rarely read gaming magazines now as they are either too childish or biased the internet has all I need nowadays. I mainly read Eurogamer and get a lot of news not covered there from this forum.

To be honest,both PC Guru and GameStar would be dead now without their monthly full game add-ons.Their design is getting worse in every year.

I've never had any other gaming platform than a pc, so I've only read gaming magazines aimed at pc users.
No idea if you're from the Dutch or French speaking part of Belgium, but PC Gameplay is from the Dutch speaking part.
It's the only gaming magazine in The Netherlands I like.
It's by far the best and the only one worth mentioning.
It's as far as I can tell the only one in Dutch which has truly independant reviews.
In a few cases they haven't written a review or were very late with it because of the lack of a review copy due to them not wanting to promise to write a positive review.
So far I never made a bad buy when basing myself on their reviews.
I have been reading it since the first issue and have a subscription since around # 10.
They're now at # 167 at a speed of 11 numbers a year.
I also read their summer specials.
As for none Dutch magazines, I have read a few English ones a few times.
The only one that stood out was PC Gamer UK.
But that was years ago.

Only local magazine I know of is Hráč (= Gamer).
Otherwise, Czech magazines SCORE and LEVEL are pretty common here.
Before I was reading SCORE, but now I don't bother with any of them.

I did say gaming magazine, didn't I? ;) I'm sure there is something older in the basement :P.
For me SS started falling apart in it's early fifties. I still have no idea how it survived that long (issue 95) :P.

I've had those few Bajtek's game pages on my mind, and TS issue 0.. It's in pieces today.. But thank gawd for the RetroReaders...;P
Well, look at CDA, they were never good, from the goofy beginnings to the absurd "10/10 for each major title" wankery they do today. They don't even hide their advertising as reviews.
SS had some balls in the beginning, but right, they were overrated. But on the other hand, they had a great cultural impact on the kids. They DID spawn the first major generation of japanophiles, for example. And boy, i hate them for that.;)

There are loads of gaming magazines here. At least 20 in my local Newsagent. I'd say that EDGE and Gamesmaster (apart from some bias towards hyping up movie games and WWE games) are the best. The Official Playstation Magazine is pretty cool too.

I think I just died a little inside.

I used to buy PC Gamer for around 5 bucks. The demos on the CDs usually sold me the magazine since I don't have good download speeds and the articles were a fun read. Then they changed the demos to a DVD because demos no longer fit in a CD and raised the price to 10 bucks. I can buy a game with ten bucks nowadays and any info and opinions I need on a game can be found online, from multiple sources, for free. Bye bye gaming magazines.

i wish i could pay and subscribe Edge magazine in PDF format...
it's impossible to subscribe for paper edition of Edge if you live in Poland :(
might be odd - but i preffer digital distribution for software, magazines (and books sometimes)
i'd love to see some day our polish NEO PLUS (consoles only) magazine in digital distribution

I said earlier that I've been reading CDA since late 1998 and that I'm still a subscriber, so you see that I disagree about the "they were never good" part :P.
While I never considered them to be on par with TS, Reset or early SS, it still was a good magazine with it's own style. Sure, they were far from perfect, with their own set of ridiculous views and mistakes, but what magazine wasn't? Are you saying that TS and SS didn't give reviews with "10/10 for each major title"? :P
I was seriously thinking about not buying it after laughable reviews for Soul Reaver 1 and 2 (it was too obvious that the "reviewers" didn't even play these games), but they still write something interesting every now and then, and more importantly - the full versions on covers can be really good.
But as I said before - the recent changes were just too much. I think I still might buy it from time to time if they include a game that I am interested in, but I won't be buying it regularly.
About SS and japanophiles. Oh my, I still remember it:
"What is this supposed to be... this.. Manga Room... thing. Two pages wasted on some stupid Japanese cartoons? What were they thinking? Fortunately no one sane would enjoy this... thing, so thankfully it will be gone by the next month". Suffice to say that I was somewhat disappointed with the general response :P.
And on a side note - it's really weird talking about these magazines in English. :)
