captfitz: are there any other windsurfers here?

I was a certified windsurfer about 20 years ago, when I was in high school. (Showing my age.) It's been a long time since I've done it. I keep saying to myself "I should really do that again", but it hasn't come to the top of the list yet.
Amazing sport though. Exhilarating and peaceful all at the same time.
Well now, lets see...
Films: I tend to watch a minimum of 2-3 a week.
Music: Various types mostly metal and some game music remixes (sonic 2 atm)
Reading: Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy etc. recently HP Lovecraft stuff, The Island of Dr. Moreau and Terry Pratchett.
Writing: I dabble here and there, short stories and some other stuff (mostly unfinished, I'm terrible for starting a new story and then leaving it a dozen pages in.)
Politics: Always keep myself up to date as best I can on the latest in my country, and around the world. Wish more people would be interested! Probably one of very few people to watch This Week almost religiously.
Art: Used to do quite a lot, but not very varied these days. Done a little bit recently that I'm hoping will get used on a t-shirt, but not heard anything back about that.
Football: Soccer if you'd prefer :P Liverpool supporter. YNWA!
Watch a lot of other sport: Rugby, Tennis, Cricket and of cour Formula 1
Other than that I hang around with friends and family, usually at the weekends.
Besides gaming the hell out of my life I also:
- Listen to rock'n'roll regularly
- Read books (I've just finished Live Flesh and got 12 more to read)
- Write short stories

Nope. I've never been Oregon. It's the only state in the west I haven't been to actually. My parents had a timeshare in Kauai Hawaii when I was a teenager, so that's where I leaned to sailboard. A place called Hanalei Bay near Princeville Kauai. That's a wonderful spot if you ever have a chance to go. It's got a coral reef about a mile out that keeps the water calm and the sharks away.
I'll have to make it out to Oregon some time and try it. It's been over 15 years since I've been on a board, so I'd probably need a refresher course though.
When not gaming, I read Books - I Wiki-walk on Multiple Sites Usually while listening to music, Watch Anime and Movies, Post on a few Different Forums and play with my new Dog
Cooking and baking
Reading
Doing nothing at all and enjoying it (more people should try this)
Messing around with my pc, redecorating my linux and windows and stuff.
Well, and obviously I enjoy music and movies and just hanging with friends, but hey, doesn't everyone?
I love the outdoors, especially hiking and backpacking. I also love music, Cardinals baseball, and hacking my computers.

Kalas: I'm planning on trying to make a game.

What kind of game are you developing?
I like to masturbate and find new ways to beat up gay people.
Seriously though, I like to burn things, pretending to be a consultant over the phone to unsuspecting victims, and torrenting gratuitous amounts of porn.
Well, let me just encompass the gaming world here by saying: I do a podcast on video games, I've played D&D with the same basic party for about eight years, and I did a podcast about THAT too.
That being said, here's the non-gaming hobbies I have. I hope there's enough to look like a list, instead of just a few sentences ... I:
* play frisbee with my girlfriend
* cook delicious food
* produce low-budget movies
* write screenplays and novels (definitely hobby-worthy material, if you get my drift)
* tinker with the insides of computers
* play with my cats
* sail on rivers on the east coast
* chat all damn day in the #GOG channel at IRC.Quakenet.org
* read about everything I can
* obsess over sci-fi and horror from the 1920s through the 1980s
* camp in the wilderness
* make sock puppets
* teach and present on stuff I know about at a moment's notice
And ... um. Hmm. Otherwise, full-time dreamer.
I play the guitar and collect 16oz cans... They look good stacked neatly on shelves.
I've got about 167 I think it's at now.
I love reading books and listening to good music so I guess I can call them hobbies. I am very lucky that electronics which I can call my life's hobby, is also my job.

Me plays guitar (both acoustic and electric).
Like to sing loudly by myself (used to sing in a choir, but got tired of the amount of sociopathical dickheads).
Listen and collect music, mainly metal, and it's various sub-genres.
Watch and collect old monster movies of various types (watching grown men, wearing rubber suits) fighting in a model city is awesome! Other types of monsters are welcome too).
Read lots of mindless fantasy, sci-fi and other types of fiction.
Along with gaming, i enjoy:
play squash (a lot of squash)
reading books
listening to music
socializing

-Writing fiction--stories about people mostly. Been published in a few small rags. Have two novel manuscripts that floated through the NYC publishing houses. I blog some on my MySpace and blog about games in my Xfire profile.
-Reading. Average a couple of books a week, generally. Mostly fiction. Anything from Dumas and Dickens to Straub and Peter Hedges, from Bradbury to Robert Howard.
-Photography. If you can call it that. It's mostly creating Newegg wishlists for better and more expensive cameras.
-Playing guitar. I struggle, honestly.
-Music. I love pandora.com, and everything from Constance Demby to Paul Oakenfold, from Earl Scruggs & Lester Flatt to The Perfect Circle. If I couldn't listen to music I wouldn't want to live. Listened to one of my CD's today after having listened to mp3's forever, and the sound quality was amazing. Never realized the compression caused such a loss.
-Computerdom. Enjoy upgrading/buiding uber gaming rigs. I've tried consoles, but I'll always be a PC purist. (Now if I can just convince my wife I build these expensive top end machines simply for the word processing capabilities.)
Seriously, gaming may not be my only hobby, but it really is my biggest hobby. My xfire just told me I have spent 8,000 hours on games. Ouchie!
