Taking inspiration from the "games you could never finish" thread; We should discuss games that we missed and why.
I will start with 4 good games that I missed over the years:
Fallout 1
Fallout 2
I was mostly a console gamer when these came out and wasn't the huge RGP gamer taht I am today. I will pick these up from GOG when I have more free time for these games.
Freespace 2 (loved the 1st, so how this escaped my notice I will never know) my first GOG purchase.
Planescape Torment (same reason as FO)
I don't know about the rest of you; but had to be very picky about what games I buy due to limited funds growing up. I have to just as picky today but it is due to limit time for games. because of this I missed many good to great games over the years.'

I noticed that you mentioned that you liked Freespace and missed Freespace 2... Have you tried Starlancer? Very similar sort of game and also very good :)
There aren't too many games that I've missed out on as I'm a big game buyer but one that does stand out is Quest for Glory 5: Dragon's Fire. It is a game that I would dearly love to play one day.

Go to your user profile account and there should be "additional downloads" next to your Fallout 1... They should have the manual available for download?

God of War + God of War 2 were on this list for me until just last month... I finally bought these two. I was totally sure I'd like them, so I just went out and bought them mostly on impulse (well, bought the first one, liked it, beat it, and got the second one which I'm still playing).
I wish I'd gotten into Diablo 2 sooner than I did. I knew Diablo was pretty much the original dungeon-crawler, and I pretty well like games like that, and I came to find out there's nothing like the real thing.
As for games I really haven't played, I can note Baldur's Gate right now. I played the Dark Alliance games on PS2, which are kind of a mix of watered down Diablo plus watered down Dungeons and Dragons, and it's kind of a fun game, so it seems like I should have played the original BG games.

I've never played any of the Final Fantasy games, Ultima games, or any of the Fallout games!
Will try and make up for that when/if they appear on GOG (got Fallout 2 already, will play soon ...)

same here. I bought FO1 and FO2 here and when I started FO1 I was utterly lost. after some playing you get the hang of it. that's when you realise how good it is :)

Any of the X-Com series...I discovered them late-ish, and could never get them to run on vista...

Hello, I missed a lot of great games. I've playd them all but I did'nt finish any of it.
Fallout, Baldurs Gate, Ultima series...when these games where new I did'nt have internet and I did'nt know about them. Now I would like to play them but I don't have time for it. These games are very time consuming. I have now Fallout 1 from gog so maybe one day I'll start playing:).
And I am very sorry for not playing Diablo I and II, but now I don't like it's graphic (I mind the small resolution) but who knows, maybe if it will be on gog, I will play it too:).

I played all the Fallout games and Baldurs Gate 1 & 2, I loved them but I was quite young and didn't really grasp them... also I never finished any of them. So I consider them as "missed" and I will most probably play them soon as I have them in my possesion.
Freespace 2 was great, and I guess I missed it too, played it some but not on my computer. Will probably replay soon too.
I almost completed Diablo 2 so I don't fell I missed it, I just didn't get around to beating the guy before Diablo himself.
Something I didn't miss was BattleZone; played it day and night multiplayer. Sure was good times (and bad phone bills.)

Never played Fallout until I bought it from here. Haven't started Fallout 2
