We have a thread for games you quit and a thread for games you've finished, so why not a thread for games you find yourself going back to and replaying? Simple enough, right?

So what games do you keep going back to and what are the reasons?
We have a thread for this, too, but it's buried waaaay down in the forum. We'll give you a pass.... this time. ; )

I-War 2, though I'm now holding out for a new joystick. The old one (~15 years) is simply tired.
Total Annihilation
Warzone 2100 but it's been a couple years.
I always find myself going back to Morrowind. Although it may be more correct to say that I always find myself going back to look for mods for Morrowind.

Every few years I load up Crash Bandicoot 3 and Spyro the Dragon. The games have aged great.

We keep coming back to this game, you can play I war 2 with a stick? I'm impressed.

As for me, I play the 1st two Commandos games all the way through at least once a year and I try to do the same with TR 1-4.
I go back to a lot of the classics I grew up on, Wing Commander, X-Com, Civilization, Alien Legacy, Baldur's Gate 2 and the like. They just don't make them like they used to anymore. I like revisiting the era when games were complete products (no rampant DLC, preorder bonuses, etc.), minimal copy protection, the synthesizery MIDI tracks, the 2D graphics and animation, the visual sensibilities of the late 80's and 90's, gameplay still mattered more than production values, etc.

Resident evil 4, I have bought a copy for every platform it's been on.
Here's a few of mine: Empire Earth, Rise of Nations, Star Wars: Empire at War, Baldur's Gate 2
Thief (replaying the series right now before 4 is released the end of this month).
Morrowind / Oblivion
Deus Ex
Vampire: Bloodlines
Hellgate London (original single player, modded)
Skyrim (Heavily modded)
Fallout 3 & New Vegas with the Tale of Two Worlds mod (Makes F3 and dlcs a huge mod/dlc for FNV)

Those are my big 3 that I go back to.
-Diablo 2
-Sacrifice
-Heroes of Might and Magic 3
-Unreal Tournament 2004
-Master of Orion 2
-Warcraft III
From more recent years. Fire emblem awakening, warriors orochi 3 and two many old games to list.

Witch: Hey boss what happen to that list of old games you all ways come back to play?

Me: You set it on fire you bloody idiot!

Witch: Ohh... Now i remember. Yeahhhhh. I better get going.
1.) Monkey Island 1: The only adventure game I play through once every couple years and even though the puzzles are all memorized by now it has lost none of its appeal. I'm a huge fan of point and click adventures but this is the only one I've played through from beginning to end multiple times. It's also the only adventure game that made me laugh more than 3 times. Nanobots by Erin Roberts is a close rival in that regard but I can't say which game is funnier because I haven't beaten Nanobots yet (I'm stuck, yet again).

2.) UFO: Enemy Unknown (aka XCOM: UFO Defense): Why? Because there isn't a single game out there that gets the mix between the tactical, strategic and managerial part as nicely done as this one. And since making games has become more and more expensive, complex and time consuming due to 'modern standards', there will likely never be a game like the original XCOM. The new XCOM release is testimony to that trend, many people are fine with that and call it streamlining, unfortunately it doesn't work for me...so back to the original.

3.) Transport Tycoon: Thanks to Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe, you can now experience the bliss of chi ching forever. This is an indestructible classic with near criminal addiction potential. This is the first game I pulled an all-nighter with, and the next day I had a ski race and was so tired that I hit half the slalom poles and racked up such a penalty time that I placed last. And I didn't care, cause I made millions in Transport Tycoon!
Age of Empires, the original (with the Rise of Rome expansion) is like an old comfortable pair jeans I always go back to, whenever I want to just feel better. It's still, to this day, the only real RTS I've play a lot of. I have tried many, many, many others (including the latter 2 titles in this series) in an attempt to find that amazing match again, but so far nothing. So when I'm in the mood for RTS, it's always back to Age of Empires and the Rise of Rome expansion.

You managed to get Tale of Two wastelands working? What OS do you use?

I usually go back to:
1) Fallout New Vegas, with a load of mods.
2) Skyrim, not so modded
3) Doom. This game will never get old.
4) Pokemon Emerald. My favorite childhood game. I like to experiment with different teams.
Diablo 1 Hellfire for atmosphere and old good days memories.

Wonderboy in monster land for it`s epicness.
