KOTOR. Combats felt artificial and unimmersive (short range laser : shoot once, then it's melee), the characters uninteresting, the story boring (go fetch the five parts of the galactic map. Thanks), the quest options manichean ("Die, old woman" vs "I will help you recover your lost kitty"), the dialogs boring. I went until the Wookie-planet, more or less finished it, then erased the game from my computer.

I should have known, I don't like the Star War universe much :) I prefer enclosed universed, not one in which the storyteller can create new races, threats, nations deux ex machina)

carnival73: Mine happens to be an entire genre -> Racing. Can't get into them. Only one I ever really liked was Burnout Revenge.

All the rest, especially Gran Turismo -> tTTTTttTTTTHHhHHHhhhhhhhHHHHPPpPPPPPTttttttttTT!!!!!
Agreed with Gran Turismo, I dont understand why people even care about it - it bores me to death

I like arcade racing games way more, like burnout, motorstorm or flatout
Arx Fatalis and KOTOR 2, after that one I've been very doubtful that Avellone is responsible for PS:T's greatness. The dialogs wih Kreia were unbearable, and the dialog choices retarted compared to KOTOR 1 (which were hilarious in my opinion).

edit: also Homeworld 2.

GTA 3

Don't know why - for some reason just could not get into it.

I made the mistake of playing Vice City before GTA3 so I was very disappointed in it. There is nothing memorable about GTA3 compared to some missions in VC which were utter genius.

Heck any GTA after 1+2.. they took my perfect top down shooter and turned it into.. some crappy 3rd person game with lots of sex references...
Things that come to mind right now

Messiah - Dont know what it is doing on GOG myself
Little Big Planet - I tried but.... not my thing
Gran Turismo - Sorry, but just no. I do enjoy Forza a lot though
Nintendo Wii as a whole - Mine has not been powered up in more than a year
Diablo 1 & 2 - I could go ranting about this one for long
The Sims - Oh, come on....
Going back a bit here.... but I never got on with Kingpin.
All my other mates loved it (twas a regular Lan Party game in it's time for us).
I know I am asking for trouble by saying this but....

The original Quake. Hate it, can't stand it. Have played trough it many times. Still don't get it.
A brown and blocky maze-shooter with no plot, no point, no context, and completely lacking any diversity, atmosphere and interesting gameplay.

I kinda liked the sequels, though - at least they had a bit of context and style to them. Not my favourite games, but passable. They are masterpieces in comparison to the original. But most things are. In my opinion.

Please don't kill me.

I did this too. After playing Vice City, GTA3 seems completely bland, not interesting (and the fact that the main character doesn't speak doesn't help for me).
Amnesia: The Dark Descent

I love Penumbra: Overture and Penumbra: Black Plague, and have bought them each three times to support Frictional Games. I believe that those two are both masterpieces in their own right.

To give an idea of my regard for Amnesia, know that I purposely waited until release day to pay the full $20 to support Frictional. It was released on a Wednesday, and I didn't touch it until midnight of that Friday. I played it properly; with headphones, in the dark.. What a disappointment.

I... I know the point of this topic is to comment on ones you hate that others love, and for me the conversations with Kreia had a very big effect on my life at the time of first playing the game so I'm not the right person to say anything on it. Basically I'll just politely disagree. I'm a huge fan of Chris Avellone's writing, to me he's one of the best writers out there. I played KotOR2 before PST but while going through PST now, I see a lot of elements of the story of PST bled into KotOR2, just in a different context.

My games for the list are as follows:

Halo: I just don't get the love of the series. I played the first one, got about halfway through and just really didn't enjoy it at all. The arguement often comes up as "It's all about the multiplayer..." well then it's definitely not for me because the only multiplayer I enjoy it co-op.

Final Fantasy 7: I find the game to be incredibly overrated. Sephiroth is by no means the greatest villain people claim him to be, Aeris' death did nothing for me emotionally. I basically beat the game because I had it at a time when I tried to beat every game I got.

BioShock: While I don't hate it per se, it basically rips off SS2 in so many ways that I just go "Guys, you know saying spiritual successor doesn't mean copy everything in the original title that was amazing and give it an underwater coat of paint right?" I was grumpy as all hell when I knew the Atlas plot-twist the second he first spoke to me just because I've played SS2 so many times. I worked at Gamestop when BS came out and had to constantly hold my tongue while working on the floor and listening to people say it was one of the best games ever (to me that is SS2).

How so?
Were you expecting to not be scared shitless?

When I first played Bioshock I thought it was incredible so then I went back and played the SS games.
Every time I played Bioshock after that it was just kinda meh to me.

The COD and MOH games always seemed like the most mediocre games ever to me.

Was never really a big fan of Crysis either.
I plan on giving that one another try though one of these days.
i hate all online games (MMORPG, MMOFPS......) like Aion,.... Huge waste of time and games which have activation limit (most GFWL games...)

I'm playing it at the moment. Have to say I'm positively surprised. Some people in this thread have called it shallow, but I disagree strongly. It's actually one of the deeper FPSs around. It's got a well developed stealth system and the big, open locations allow for many different tactical approaches. The suit powers (available from the start) don't depend on the level design to be useful, there are weapon upgrades and many vehicles.

All in all, it requires quite a bit of strategy and there's lots of room for experimentation. Apparently it becomes a bit rubbish once you have to fight the aliens, but until now, I'm having fun.

If you ever come back to it, consider playing it on the highest difficulty level. Stealth and strategizing become much more important.
