Tales of Symphonia : I'm a fan of this saga in general, but this one, I REALLY can't stand it. I forced myself to finish it, and it taken me 2 years. No really, this game is horrible in all aspects. I have pure hatred toward this game.

There's Gears of War too. I don't understand all the hype. I find this game really slow paced and boring, without any epicness. Really, I can't get into it.

We'll see for more later :D .
Naruto. It did to ninjas what Twilight did to vampires. "Believe it!" How is that even a catchphrase? What should I believe? That your show and games suck?
Gotta be Halo. It probably wouldn't be fair to say I hate it, it's a perfectly ok FPS. That's just it though, it's just another generic shooter and it has almost as much undeserved hype surrounding it than Christianity. Sure, LAN matches with friends are fun, the same can be said for pretty much any other game in the genre.

GTAIV. Don't get me wrong, I adore the series, particularly San Andreas. However, they really seemed to fuck it up with the jump to the next generation consoles. They actually cut down on the available selection of vehicles and guns, made the height ceiling for aircraft lower than the buildings (I fucking HATE that so much I cannot begin to describe it), restricted you to only a city environment, added a bunch of fluff (in-game TV and internet) nobody would ever look at unless they were bored with the main game (something you'd think the developers were trying to avoid), reduced the customisabiltiy of your character to nigh-on nothing and for all that all they did was pretty up the graphics (seems to be a running theme with this generation of games, no?). Ah well, at least we have Saints Row II. They did far better job of things I must say.

Finally, a retro title that I cannot stand. Crash Bandicoot. It's just so fucking boring, tedious and repetitive. Granted, the newer titles try to make the gameplay a little more varied, but it's stil ass.
I didn't like The Seventh Guest. It was hugely influential on a lot of the games I *do* like, but once I finally got to play it (about 15 years after it was released) I just couldn't understand why it's still considered such a classic. The mansion was boring--there was very little to look at, and nothing to interact with besides the puzzles themselves. And since the puzzles weren't much fun, there was no compelling reason to keep playing. Maybe it would have gotten better if I'd finished it, but I couldn't bring myself to do so.

Filthgrinder: Also I HATE the Grand Turismo series. People seem to worship that game, but I just find it to be a massive advertisement game pay by the corporations to sell cars etc. Just the fact you can't crash you cars makes me laugh at the fact that they have the balls to call it a "simulator".
Damage will be enabled as an option in GT5.

Also, almost all racing games (except Ridge Racer) are ads to sell cars. That's sort of you know, the point of racing games. To give you realism by putting in all these cars you wish you could drive but probably can't, like concept cars, limited edition cars, classic cars, etc.

That's why I dearly love the only racing game I actually own, Burnout: Domination. None of the cars exist, and the explosions are so nice! Makes you feel good about sucking at it :D

Nope, just the one. I collect previous generation games, is that a next-gen title? I stick with the older consoles because I know how dependable they are and I pick up awesome games for a fraction what people paid for them just a few years ago (mwehehe!)
when I saw this thread, my immediate thought was Bioshock - good lord I despise that game - but I appear to have been beaten to the punch by a number of people. The only thing I have to say is: photography? Where was this? Not that it would have saved the game, but as someone who beat the game - an act that nearly ended in the disc being rended in two - I do not remember this at all. I can only assume I blanked it out to preserve my fragile threads of sanity.

The second thing that popped into my head was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw-88h-LcTk

Hate is such a strong word, wouldn't you say?

Well IIRC it was like, $7.49 on Steam not too long ago. That is probably my favorite Burnout game ever. Even if the city is populated by robotic cars and no pedestrians roam the streets.

Ooh city. Must try. All I get is races, delightful races...
Bioshock. Although I wouldn't say I 'hate' it. Just didn't draw me in enough to keep playing past a couple of hours.
-CoD 4 (I hate the concept of unlocking things in a shooter),
-Half-Life 2 (wasn't that great compared to the original and don't like how the original gets no credit)
-Final Fantasy 7,8,10+ (how can someone like them compared to ones like 6..?),
-Divine Divinity (I love the soundtrack and world for the game but everything else falls short like it did in Arcanum at least in my opinion)
-World of Warcraft (I don't hate it blindly like a lot of people but have issues with the general attitude that the elitist community has and how one has to do so much repetition just to see the world)
-Quake 2 (It was a total disappointment after the amazing first game)
-Icewind Dale (these games took everything out that made Torment and BG so memorable for a Diablo clone)
-Borderlands (Repetition and that horrible ending)

I could think of more but that is off the top of my head. Really picky about my games as the list shows :P.

Biggest fails that I've purchased/played:
Dragon Age: Origins, I have tried and tried to like this only to be disappointed each time, perhaps I am doing it wrong...

Diablo 2, the more I played it the more I realized it sucked horrible ass. I actually played it a ton socially, but when you compare it to something like Titan Quest you can see how horrible it is.

Braid, I didn't hate Braid, I just didn't think it was all that. Very pretty, the gameplay was insipid on some levels, putting for sheer difficulty in place of good gameplay.

WOW, there was literally not one thing left to like after vanilla was replaced (and a lot to hate beforehand). Warhammer Online had far more compelling PVP and DDO is how you write stories for a MMO. Also, it seriously messed up the lore for the strategy games.

I find this thread fascinating, I'll be back when I recall more. Happy Halloween all!
Modern Warfare 2. Hands down the worst of the CoD Games.
