I got this weird premonition the other day (after the daily for SiN) that after the new years some digi retailers might do some weeding and reducing the size of their catalogs.

So I went back and picked up a few titles that I've been wanting that I can't confirm rather or not they will be around forever.

Armed and Dangerous
Clive Barker's Jericho
Bionic Commando

Now I might just be paranoid but figured there was no better time than the present.

Currently I'm trying to gather together the funds for the two expansions for Bet On Soldier (which stubbornly never drop below $15 a piece and Gate are the only ones hosting them)

But I was wondering if anyone else here has either heard rumors or have their own original suspicion as to some titles that might take a dive soon?
Even if Armed and dangerous isn't going to disappear, you have to buy it. This game is just awesome.
I bought Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime on Steam thinking Atari would be stupid and remove the game from there soon.

Well they haven't.
I still have A&D original and I have Jericho on 360 and PC, never played the Bionic game.
Probably games that are based on books, movies, etc. or that have licensed music. Some of those will probably not be sold at all in a while.
Keloggs adventure, a platformer for the kids, wasn't really that good but it was free...no more to say :o
Those Koei Dynasty Warriors type games on Gamefly. They're a holdover from direct2drive and no other DD service has them.

*checks list and sees only 1 game*
Dynasty Warriors 6

Uh oh, I could have sworn there were 3 games a couple of years ago. Warriors Orochi was one them. :(

Oh i should also mention dynasty warriors [X-1] since dynasty warriors X tends to be direct upgrade of the old with very few changes :p
Fear those that I enjoy most, from here, will become extinct, as most did...
I was going to suggest Red Ace Squadron Pro, but it looks like Small Rockets Games has closed its doors, and now the game can't be purchased anymore. I still have my copy, thankfully.
I was also going to say Dejobaan and Moonpod's games but they've since started selling on GamersGate and/or Steam. I hope they come to GOG too.
Other than that, I fear 11th Dimension Entertainment's RPGs Excelsior Phase One and Two (Two in particular) won't always be around, and they aren't available anywhere else.
I don't know how well Ambrosia Software is doing, but their games (Escape Velocity: Nova being my favorite) aren't available anywhere else as far as I know.
Yep, after the Xmas sale is when games disappear. Last year after Xmas, Neverwinter2, Sacred2 are the ones i remember that vanished.

I think music is normally ok, but movies and any games based upon sports or cars tend to be very quick to get the axe chop when the licence expires. Plus they tend to also be very hard to ever get back into the community again (games based of films are probably not too bad, but anything with sports or external rights into other markets is likely very hard to get back on sale ever again).

Heck I put off getting the second Battle for Middle Earth game for ages - and now its gone pretty much from the market unless you find a second hand copy.

I don't understand why Steam removed Ghostbusters from their store. The game is still available on Amazon and GG.

I had this same thought whilst walking back from getting groceries.
that said I also rationalised that retailers are highly unlikely to bother. New games are coming out with 10GB - 20GB heck I suspect in a year or two 30GB games will be commonplace. The thing is all those older titles are tiny in comparison to just one of the newer games. So I suspect the long term storage isn't really a concern - esp as storage continues to get larger and cheaper.
