Well, they've gone into administration once before and are now owned by the guys who owned MFI and Comet...so, who knows?

They are xboned all right. :D
Well if they didn't go down and out... they will now. Who's bright idea is this?! (this is coming from someone who's very fond of his xboxs)
As much fun as I have with my Xbox 360, this was a very crappy business move to say the least. The only advantage this would have is being able to sell Xbox products and games for less than what the other retailers offer assuming they properly implement economies of scale. I doubt that's going to be the case.
I don't see how this is a bad idea for either party. Microsoft set up some special temporary stores for the Surface as well as permanent Microsoft Stores (with a non-Xbox focus) so it makes sense to do the same sort of thing to build Xbox brand presence in the lead-up to the Xbox One. GAME will be paid well for their involvement and more Xboxes in use will of course lead to more profits for them in general (whether at this store or their other outlets).

Well GAME's presence in Ireland is almost completely gone at this stage, so... a lot?

Nothing like artificially limiting your store and customer base to make a massive capitalistic success!

I don't know, the official Microsoft spokespeople there is kind of unique. Not sure how common that is in US but it's pretty rare over here.
Microsoft and Sony both have retail chains for their products, so if Game wants to try, well good luck to them.

Personally I'll wait for the Wii U Hut to open and visit it instead.

Those that not concentrate on their other electrical products though?

Plus, people keep forgetting this is in the UK:

The first Microsoft store is only opening this year.

I don't see the problem. It's not like the bastardised another store. I'm sure they got some money from Microsoft for that, and I imagine that they have enough Xbox sales to think it's not a total waste (unlike a Wii-U store for example).

Speaking of which, I believe one of those MS stores is supposed to open its doors here in town on Jun 20. Probably will check it out next time I'm downtown again just for shits and giggles.
I have not been in game for years due to the ever decreasing pc selection and the staff that thinks the latest COD is the best game ever.

An xbox only shop well thats another bullet in an already loaded gun i think this will just kill them again. Oh well buy game you where a good company back in late 90s and early 00s.

And you mention that as a bad thing why?
