Hello everyone!

In the last few years, I really had a hard time finding a game with a story or a setting capable of absorbing me in well-written and mature themes like Planescape: Torment or I Have No Mouth And I must Scream did back at the time, so I ask you to share your wisdom with me: are there any other good titles on GoG that can satisfy my hunger for more deep thematics in videogaming?
Given your avatar I suppese there's no point in mentionning wadget eyes.

There's some stuff in Deus Ex, I'd say ?
The Cay Lady, Lone Survivor, King of Dragon Pass... Heard good things about The Swapper too .
Yeah, I hesitated to mention the Swapper. In a way.

But also Geneforge.
Sanitarium hasn't been mentioned yet. So... Sanitarium ;)
Try Imperialism, the story is reality, doesn't get more mature.
Papers please ?

Shame on me for forgetting...
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. It does assume that you are reasonably familiar with the D&D framework though; if you're not, it's probably too confusing to enjoy.
The Witcher series
Gabriel Knight series
Expeditions Conquistador is very well written and it doesn't pull any punches when it comes to the suffering of the peoples involved. However, it presents a small, dangerous possibility of interpreting some of it as an exercise in sadism, which also makes it interesting, at least in my opinion, especially when you project it upon that style of strategy/RPG games.

I'd say Arcanum has some very interesting themes; the main story is not incredible, but it's written decently enough. The world is very rich, though, and you can see lots of social issues that arose in the 19th century through an interesting fantasy lens.

Alpha Centauri has a really good backdrop, and each faction has a different take on the concept of progress, deep enough as to often serve as commentary on the fundamentally modern, Western way in which Civ games standardize the infinitely diverse whole of human history.

This might sound odd, but Psychonauts. You'll have to trust me on this one and see for yourself! ;)
I'd easily say The longest journey. How many games can realistically introduce a gay couple in the first ten minutes like it ain't no thing.
Thanks to anyone who has already posted!
As a "good old gamer" I already knew -and played, with the exception of Sanitarium- all the above mentioned games (if they were released before 2006). I should have been more specific: let' say I'm interested in post-2006 games, because in realtively recent times I have been very unsitisfied with the depth of games in general, more and more marked for a "teen" audience, at least in my perception.
Anyway, it is always good to mention some great names of the past, since some new gamer might be interested in something more than a "heroic military-praising" shooter as well...
Definitely agree witch Deus Ex, Gabriel Knight, Mask of the Betrayer (even if unfortunately the rest of NWN2 cannot stay on par, imo), Alpha Centauri -in its own way- and, as it seems obvious, all the Wadjet Eye games.

Edit: Oh, and Psychonauts, too! Really an overlooked gem.

Play Sanitarium. It's really worth it. One or two chapters are quite weak but several of them are true masterpieces!

Imediately whishlisted! I always wanted to play it, but for unexplainable reasons never remebered to!
