I won't ever regret that I bought a game. For one, I wouldn't know that a game sucks before buying and playing it. Also I perceive even bad games as a valuable experience. For example I bought and beat Ultima 1-3. They suck balls but at least I learned something about the roots of the cRPG genre. Can't say that there weren't any games that disappointed me a lot, though. Empire Earth is among the worst RTSes I have ever played and I was also expecting a lot more from The Longest Journey but at least I got to know some famous titles. But the closest I've gotten to actually regretting a purchase... that would probably be The Real Texas. Not saying that it's bad but personally I have a hard time enjoying it.

You know your the first person I see here in GOG calling another player that they suck in what games?

When I see people saying old Resident Evil games suck because the controls and camara angles are stupid I really wanted to call them a bunch of pussies since I play these games better than them and never complained about the controls. I never thought they were bad when I first played them when I was 14. Yeah I am that Hardcore with the old resident evils.
Starting to feel that Omerta is the first game I bought here and regretted.

That kinda makes me proud, although I was being sarcastic. I mean, I think it's a pretty good game (although surprisingly it has aged much worse than other games from its time like say Half-Life 2) but I'm aware of the reasons why many people dislike it and wouldn't seriously insult someone for doing so. :P Sadly I haven't read your rant on the game, I'm actually quite curious about it.

I very slightly regret Capsized. The controls are taking some getting used to for me. I was hoping for something I could play with my 360 fight pad, but you need a regular 360 controller for the analog sticks for aiming and the default gun doesn't have rapid fire. Aiming with a stick feels kind of stiff too.

I think the keyboard/mouse will do better, and I may use a script for auto fire with the mouse button. Overall a minor gripe, but other than that, I haven't bought anything here yet that I've played and had any real complaints over.

tinyE: Ever bought a game, regret it, try it again a few years later and totally love it? That would be me and C&C.
Final Fantasy 6. I bought it when I was a kid and had no idea what I was doing for most of the game and generally didn't have a good time. When I came back and played it again years later I loved it.

Lol. I never said or implied I hate old games, it's just wasn't the main reason. It was a good bonus that GOG still focus on old games as it makes GOG kind of a museum of video games.

Heh, yeah, I understand that DRM-free is a big selling point to many people. ;) I'm just one of the more fanatical "museum of good or at least significant video games" peeps.
Have bought a few games in my life that end up crap after start playing it but never regret one at all.

But there is 1 game I ever regret pre-ordering is the recent release, Omerta.

Can't really say considering that I've bought 125 games and I've gotten around to like 20 of them (and enjoyed them).

So I guess the games I've already gotten in the Humble Indie Bundles, but those are backups anyway so I guess it's far game? :-/
No specific titles come to mind, but anything that I can't just sit back on my ass and use a mouse to control.

The other hand has important functions to perform, such as telephones, beers, sandwiches, smokes, etc.

I avoid games Like Omerta LIKE THE PLAGUE also both syberia 1 and 2 AVOID I played the demos and you walk around for three Fucking hours wondering what the hell to do games like Myst I try to avoid I find the puzzles in these even mid game Far to friggin confusing MOST of the time Most times they are totally illogical take normality for one such game I basically walked around trying everything there was a puzzle where you needed to use debris on the vibrating bed to knock a guard out I tried everything even the debris (peices of wood) on the bed IT DIDN'T WORK I was going around for 5 fucking hours trying everything I thought FUCK THIS playguide time when they said put debris on bed I thoughtto Myself "I ALREADY TRIED THAT AND IT DIDN'T WORK" so I tried it a second time and LO and Behold it finally worked And I could progress in the game Finally!

Genre's to avoid unless you like ending up in a Mental hospital!

RTS/TBS (e.g Age of Empires, Kingdom:TFR, Conquest Of the New World E.C.T.) Too Fucking TEDIOUS
Point and Click "adventure" games (MYST, Normality, Tex Murphy E.C.T.) Illogical and Hint-less Puzzles.
The ENTIRE ULTIMA SERIES EXCEPT (Underworld 1 and 2) Confusing, ASCII everything WEIRD!
Text based "adventure" games (zork and the ILK) ONLY TEXT, Too Confusing
ALL SIM GAMES Especially MANAGERIAL and flight (tycoon series, Caesar series, APACHE and HAWX series) tedious tweak everything games and Flight games with DERANGED keyboard controls ONLY! The only good sims are PINBALL GAMES!

Erm.. GOG the Descent series are NOT sims they are First Person Aerial Combat games and freespace 1 and 2 are third person galactic Combat, They are also SCI-FI you can't actually have SCI-FI and Simulation in the same sentence it's contradictory.

Survival and Sirvival Horror are some of the BEST TITLES (except silent hill 5) Why oh GOD WHY did they mess with the formula WHY!!
