Leroux: How does Surgeon Simulator fit into this? I'm still wondering whether it's worth playing.
The horrible controls from what i can see would make it more fustrating than fun imho :/
high rated
I am holding out for rock simulator or the aptly titled potential energy that never kinetisizes simulator.

iphgix: rock simulator
Brought to you by the makers of Evolution Simulator, Grass Simulator, and Tectonic Plate Simulator. :P

Wishbone: No, not really. It isn't terribly polished, true, but it's not designed to be "so bad it's good".
avatar
F4LL0UT: As far as I can tell it has been the expectation of the vast majority of people who ever heard about the game, though. Similarly to Surgeon Simulator.

KneeTheCap: Oh crap, there was a thread about this already! Sorry about this, I tried to search but didn't find anything :/
Let's just move this discussion to the older thread, shall we?

And sorry for starting a new one, didn't know there already was a thread.

F4LL0UT: Frankly I don't feel like the threads are really about the same thing. The other thread feels more like it's about games which are so unbelievably bad that you need to see for yourself rather than about bad games that are actually unintentionally enjoyable. I think we can stay here. :B
Yeah, this one seems more specifically about hilarious broken physics than the other one...

So far, yes, but it's not like there's no games where for instance the writing or voice acting are so awful that they make the game hilarious.

Sadly the only example I can think of right now is an old mod for Operation Flashpoint which imitated Stalker (long before Stalker's release). I don't recall the title, all I remember is that on the main menu the title music from Cold Case could be heard. Anyway, the German developer apparently recorded all the voice overs himself, on the intro there was some *really* off acting and the first NPC you meet speaks with an awful Russian accent but to make it funnier, the developer's impression of some Eastern European dude was inconsistent, the voice and accent would randomly skip around from line to line. I was laughing my butt off.

Edit: Dang, I think I found it. Apparently it was called Conspiracies and can be found here, should also work with ARMA: Cold War Assault. Also someone seems to keep making sequels to the mod for the newer ARMA games, presumably the same guy. Voice acting is English in the newer ones but still not much better. The version I played was older than this one, though, so this version might be less goofy than the experience I had.

Oh damn, I DO remember another example. Chaos Wars which seems to be kinda infamous for the awful English voice acting. Sadly this particular scene isn't nearly as "good" as some others I've heard. But damn, it's a game I *would* play solely for the sake of hearing awful voice acting in all its glory.

I recall actually reading somewhere that the guy in charge of the localization asked his own family members to do the voices rather than hiring actual actors. IIRC a bunch of people in the English version's credits share the same family name.

Cargo: The Quest For Gravity has voice acting that seems really... off - can't make out if its bad or just bizarre - same for the rest of the game, actually!
Could defiantly do with a minimap, especially for the submarine sections, though!
Rogue Warrior is a FPS that is so bad it becomes funny. Mickey Rourke throws F-bombs and other swear-words left, right and center and the actual combat is hilariously bad with a super gory and cheesy kill cam. It was a full priced game and yet you will finish it in 2-3 hours.

Get it in the next Steam sale and then play it drunk.

I was always curious about that one. When I saw the previews I was expecting something along the lines of the Punisher game from 2005 (insane over the top violence, so brutal that it makes you laugh hysterically). Also IIRC Rogue Warrior was made by rebellion whose games are usually judged far worse than they are, so I thought there was hope for that one after all.

Okay, damn, metascore of 29. Seems that game is indeed beyond all hope. Also now I see why I drew a connection to the Punisher game. Rogue Warrior's cover art seems clearly inspired by some of the Punisher artworks. Drop the beard, add a big white skull, and it looks like a genuine Punisher game. :P

Edit: Also WTF?! It's a FIRST person shooter? NONE of the material I've seen for the game before or after its release showed a first person perspective, now I watched a gameplay video for the first time, and indeed - it's a first person game. What the hell? o_o

Are you getting confused between Rogue Warrior and Rogue Trooper? The Rebellion game based on the 2000AD character?

Trooper:

Warrior:

Saying that Warrior DOES look more Punishery and WAS also by Rebellion! What a co-incidence!

Not sure what you're exactly getting at. o_O Anyway, never had any trouble telling those two apart, I really mean Warrior. Just look at all the footage and the trailer of Rogue Warrior on Steam and tell me that you'd expect an FPS rather than a TPS. I mean, now I'm aware that the game does use a third person perspective for certain situations (like shooting from cover) but still, apparently it's mainly an FPS.
Arthur's Quest had at least one moment where it was so bad it was fun.

I remember a large cavernous room where walking across an unseen line caused goblins to start running at you from an opening on the far side. However, when you went back over this line, they'd turn around and run back no matter how close they were to you and even if you attacked them.

I thought it was funny to see them spin around as I went from one side of this line to the other. Then I'd let them get right in front of me, attack them, and step backward over the line to watch them run back.

Ah, here's the area. Though the player doesn't really demonstrate what I'm talking about.
