Have you played any?

Sometimes a game is just so hilariously bad that they actually become fun to play and just mess around. like this one

Woodcutter Simulator, that's so awesome that game :D
I guess you could say that the Carmageddon's physics engine and car controls are at least seriously wonky-but-fun, not sure I'd go as far as to say that they're bad games overall though!

Oh Big Rigs is famously bah-roken and nowhere near a finished game, not played it myself but I've watched the AVGN play it!

And isn't this new 'Goat Simulator' things supposedly like this pretty much by design?

KneeTheCap: Sometimes a game is just so hilariously bad that they actually become fun to play and just mess around.
I instantly felt like yelling "of course I have!" but now that I think about it... no, not really. I mean, I've played trashy games that were fun but I think I haven't had the honor of enjoying an actually awful game for reasons that were unintended (unlike in case of many movies). There were games like Gore: Ultimate Soldier and Natural Fawn Killers, which are clearly dumb and trashy, but I enjoyed them for what they are, not because I considered things hilarious that weren't supposed to be.

I guess I owe it largely to the fact, though, that I've always avoided clearly awful low-budget games where the very premise is boring. And most games where I enjoyed glitches and playing them exactly how you shouldn't still weren't bad (for instance I've done A LOT of crazy shit in Operation Flashpoint or Battlefield that the developers clearly didn't want the players to do but the games are still great if you play them the way you are supposed to).

That's exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. I mean, Carmageddon's very premise benefits from the craziest anomalies in the physics engine. They would be awful in a serious racing game but in case of Carmageddon the developers probably counted on some of the extreme cases occurring for each player from time to time.

Oh what about the strange 'catapult' behaviour of the swings in GTA 4?

There seems to be some debate whether its a glitch or an Easter egg though...

Legendary and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. Both games are insulting easy, lack any emersion, have no weapon balance and are painfully linear (Legendary in particular). But both are clearly trying so hard to be epic, cinematic experiences that it's just rather cute. I played a whole level of Turning Point mostly with the pistol and melee just see if I could. Turns out I could give or take 6 machine gun kills.

Red Orchestra 2: Single Player had some laughter inducing moments for me. Like how the AI refuse to take the objective unless you try. Being spawning while you're dying. And my personal favourite; enemies forming an orderly line to get there sculls cracked open line in a parody of a martial arts film (sometimes six of them in a row).

No, not really. It isn't terribly polished, true, but it's not designed to be "so bad it's good".

Did you ever play GTA Vice City or San Andreas, and at some point just go "Fuck the story and missions, for the next couple of hours I'm just going to run/drive around the city and do whatever the fuck I want. Kill some people, do some stunts, see if I can get to the top of that tall building without using a helicopter"? That's what Goat Simulator is designed to be, in as much as it is designed to be anything. As you probably know, it was originally created just to familiarize the dev team with the PhysX engine as part of the development effort of another game, but then they posted a video of the simulation on YouTube, and The Internet rose up in all its glory and flat-out demanded that they make the simulation available to others. So they did, after cleaning it up a little, adding some achievements and stuff like that.
Move on to this thread :)

I see this as a particularly terrifying SCP.

Was just thinking of you when i saw this thread :P
Oh crap, there was a thread about this already! Sorry about this, I tried to search but didn't find anything :/

Let's just move this discussion to the older thread, shall we?

And sorry for starting a new one, didn't know there already was a thread.

As far as I can tell it has been the expectation of the vast majority of people who ever heard about the game, though. Similarly to Surgeon Simulator.

Frankly I don't feel like the threads are really about the same thing. The other thread feels more like it's about games which are so unbelievably bad that you need to see for yourself rather than about bad games that are actually unintentionally enjoyable. I think we can stay here. :B

How does Surgeon Simulator fit into this? I'm still wondering whether it's worth playing.

Goat Simulator is so bad that it's total awesomesauce. Anyone who doesn't laugh their ass off and have hours of fun with it must wear razorwire underwear or something. ;)

Surgeon Simulator 2013 is similarly horrible and hilarious, love it.

What else... um... Postal 3! Wait... no, that one is so bad that it's bad. LOL

Ooooo... it isn't out yet, but check out "Bear Simulator" also. That's a real winner right there!

Surgeon Sim is kind of supposed to be bad. It was specifically designed to have almost impossible controls hence making it more of a 'joke' game. You are supposed to keep dropping your watch into the patient and you are supposed to accidentally stab yourself with the IV thus causing the room to start spinning.
