KneeTheCap: Sometimes a game is just so hilariously bad that they actually become fun to play and just mess around.
I instantly felt like yelling "of course I have!" but now that I think about it... no, not really. I mean, I've played trashy games that were fun but I think I haven't had the honor of enjoying an actually awful game for reasons that were unintended (unlike in case of many movies). There were games like
Gore: Ultimate Soldier and
Natural Fawn Killers, which are clearly dumb and trashy, but I enjoyed them for what they are, not because I considered things hilarious that weren't supposed to be.
I guess I owe it largely to the fact, though, that I've always avoided clearly awful low-budget games where the very premise is boring. And most games where I enjoyed glitches and playing them exactly how you shouldn't still weren't bad (for instance I've done A LOT of crazy shit in Operation Flashpoint or Battlefield that the developers clearly didn't want the players to do but the games are still great if you play them the way you are supposed to).
Fever_Discordia: I guess you could say that the Carmageddon's physics engine and car controls are at least seriously wonky-but-fun, not sure I'd go as far as to say that they're bad games overall though!
That's exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. I mean, Carmageddon's very premise benefits from the craziest anomalies in the physics engine. They would be awful in a serious racing game but in case of Carmageddon the developers probably counted on some of the extreme cases occurring for each player from time to time.
