Hello guys! I just finished castlevania Aria of sorrow not long ago and i really want to play 2d side scrolling style of game like castlevania. Anybody have any recommendation?
Maybe La-Mulana here on GOG seems appealing to your tastes.

You should check it out.
If you search the forum, google and GOGmixes for "Metroidvania" you will probably find this is a very popular topic. The ones that immediately spring to mind and worth looking at on GOG are:

Valdis: Abyssal City
Dust: An Elysian Tail
La Mulana
Guacamelee!

Castlevania SoTN is one my all time favourites so I chose Valdis and Dust to buy on GOG, although I haven't played them yet. I'm sure there will be plenty more recommendations shortly...

EDIT: here is a gogmix with a few suggestions: http://www.gog.com/mix/list_of_gog_metroidvanias

One of my favorite genre as well :)) *come from NES era so it will be obvious.

I personally interested in the newest game released by ACE, Abyss Odyssey (Steam), maybe you should check it.
Aquaria and La-Mulana.
Magicians and Looters is pretty good. But also pretty short.

There was a post just like this not long ago: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/games_like_castlevania_sotn

A lot of good suggestions in there. My recommendations for La Mulana and Dust still stands.

Oh yeah, and Aria of Sorrow was my childhood addiction, I'm sure I played through that at least 20 times. Great game, 2nd only to SotN.

Most of my preferred recommendations have already been listed here. There's also Blood of the Werewolf, although that's now Steam-only (Groupees did a DRM-free version in a previous bundle). Abyss Odyssey does look interesting, but it's also Steam-only, so I'll pass on that for the time being.

While not 2D, I can certainly recommend the 2008 Prince of Persia game, which adopted a Metroidvania-like structure. The combat's a bit crappy, but the story is excellent, and the acrobatics and exploration are sublime.

On a side note, I've just managed to pick up the three Castlevania games for the Game Boy Advance. I didn't manage to get through Circle of the Moon when I first had it, so I hope I can see it through this time.

Have you already finished "Symphony of the Night", "Circle of the Moon", "Dawn of Sorrow" and "Order of Ecclesia"?
I adore those games.

Other than that you should play the series where Castlevania got this gameplay from:
Metroid Zero Mission, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion come to mind.

More of the so called Metroidvania style games can be found in this thread,
Aquaria was basically the love spawn of SoTN and Ecco the dolphin, and I loved it!

......also why the hell is it not on GOG?

Only on Steam as far as I can tell, but the new Strider game is a really fun title!

If you want it DRM-free, Bit Blot has finally got its website sorted out with a Humble Store widget:

I can vouch for that one. I got it recently as a PS Plus "freebie" and it is tremendous fun. Didn't expect it to be a Metroidvania - I thought it was a linear platformer à la the original Strider games. So for those not adverse to using Steam, I can recommend it.

Unepic.
Ah. I came in ready to talk about games similar to original Castlevania.

Super Metroid is the grand champion of this genre. Play that one.
