I'm not sure if there is a list already that I missed but I really like that FPP open world RPG classic style. Any recommendations on others like the early Might and Magic series? I am looking for First Person perspective(Grid based, not free roam), turn based, open world, or at least not strictly linear.

You could try the Ishar Compilation.
Going to guess that Lands of Lore is like this. Haven't played it.

I can't say for absolute certainty whether they are open or merely dungeon crawlers, but some classic First Person RPGs are:

Anvil of Dawn
Betrayal at Krondor Pack (Exploration is First Person, but combat is third person)
Ishar Compilation
Lands of Lore 1+2
Lands of Lore 3
Stonekeep
Ultima Underworld 1+2
Wizardry 6+7
Wizardry 8
Only thing I can think of is wizardry 6,7,8.

Yes and no. It appears similar on the outside because it has the same perspective and because both are dungeon crawlers with much combat and a few puzzle elements. But contrary to the open world and turn-based combat of the M&M series, Lands of Lore is linear with real-time combat (just like Eye of the Beholder, Dungeon Master, Anvil of Dawn, Stonekeep, Legend of Grimrock etc.).

True, the Wizardry series is probably the closest match. If turn-based combat is not a requirement, the second best fit would be Ultima Underworld and the Elder Scrolls games.

Not Heroes of Might & Magic like that.

I'll throw in a very underrated game: Wizards and Warriors.

Yeah I figured something like that. I just saw that it had screenshots with outdoor areas, and thought I should mention it even though it could have just been like certain connecting areas or something.

You are right, got my Might and Magic games reversed in my head lol, probably because I'm more into the Heroes of Might and Magic lol.

Thanks for the correction!!

Always preferred original series to heroes.
Might and Magic 7 it's still my all time favorite with M&M 6 coming very close. First is fun, second has a lot more depth in gameplay.
Another suggestion would be Swords and Sorcery – Underworld Gold.
Grimoire should be out soon!

:-D
