Ash360: Oh damn, I picked a minion before I knew what they did.
I ended up with the cyber one because it was the one that looked decent to me. Does anyone know what it's for, hopefully it isn't for genres I never touch.
Right now, minions earn double XP when you make purchases from the genres they cover. One of the plans for them in the future is to also offer up deals similar to the loyalty ones. There's other plans for them too, but what those are, we'll have to wait and see.

However, they won't be adding new minion features, etc., until after the summer sale (which starts next week).

Chose Nappy as minion as most of the games I seem to be buying there are strategy ones (mostly paradox's own or published). Shame there wasn't Strategy-RPG minion as that would've covered almost 100% of games I'm ever going to buy there.

Could someone check if the unofficial way of getting standalone installers still works? I may stop using GG entirely if it doesn't.

With my switch back to digital purchasing I was looking forward to giving GG more money. Now I am even more happy to do so.

All they've changed is their site (and gotten new servers by the looks of the increased download speeds). The launcher for installing, hasn't been changed.

Good to know. I would be a shame if they ruined the service by not allowing making working backups of their DRM free installers. DRM free must mean fully DRM free even if I must use workaround to achive it.

Oh, and notification of price drops is bit bugged. Got 8 emails of price drop concerning single game :-p

Trust me, they know (there's been a fair bit of Twitter based reports on that). Apparently it's a server problem and they will obviously fix it.

Anyone knows how to get these GG achievements?

Friends in high places: well I guess GG should be added to the friends list on Facebook, but I cannot do that. Actually I don't know how to do this since I cannot find any add friend button. Serious.

Twittertastic: if I write about a game on Twitter, how would the GG site connect that to my GG account? I have no idea.

Charismatic: it means I must have at least 10 friends on Facebook?

Hehe, i was looking for a Strategy-RPG minion too, and then also chose the "Napoleon" one because of the exact same reasons... :D

And yes, like it has already been said, the "GamersGate trick" still works to backup your games. ;)

1. Be "buddies" with a GamersGate staffer on GamersGate (it's nothing to do with Facebook)

2. I expect it's something to do with using the Twitter button that is on all game pages. But I've never used those buttons....

3. I expect it's to have 10 or more "buddies" on GamersGate.

Remember, GamersGate has a "friends" system similar to that of Steams. It's all done via the GamersGate site.

Hmm... are the GG prices crap overall or is it a Europe exclusive? It's most annoying, seeing all those Euros everywhere, while Steam, GoG and Impulse charge in $...
