Devil Whiskey seemed interesting to me at first, apart from Wanderlust it was the only game I got a little excited about (I already own CQ and Steel Storm and don't like any of the games in the bundle a lot). I'm glad I checked out the demo and read some reviews before buying.

Devil Whiskey might be of interest for big fans of Bard's Tale, but personally I was never really into this type of gameplay, even though I love RPGs and Dungeon Crawlers. You constantly run into random battles, even by just turning around to look sideways, and then have to fight for several minutes, round after round, to get rid of those pesky opponents, and despite some pretty pictures, the combat is purely text-based. To me, even a text adventure is more enjoyable to play. Add to that that I read the game is somewhat unbalanced and requires some classes to reach a given level in order to get certain abilities, when even with all the grinding in the game it's unlikely for you to ever get there.

Anyway, what got my interest at first were the nicely drawn character and monster portraits from the screenshots, until I realized that the art style is quite inconsistent and the portraits were probably borrowed from different sources on the internet (e.g. Deviant Art?). I think I even recognized one or two of them. I'm giving the developers the benefit of the doubt and assume that they asked for permission to use these pictures by different artists, but for me it definitely decreases the level of professionalism behind the game. Personally I think it's not worth buying even for $6, I wouldn't even like it much if it was freeware, although others may disagree, but it's definitely overpriced at over $20, considering what quality games you could buy for that. Just my 2 cents.

Going to wait and see what GOG announces since it's believed they'll announce 4 new games. Can't watch the preview because the video has been removed by the user :(

True, the art style is inconsistent and the quality is all over the place. That's just one of the reasons why I'd prefer Demise.

that sums up my demo experience as well, more or less. after taking a look at the screenshots and video preview, i didn't expect much, but i thought the demo was a huge letdown. the graphics seem to have no particular style at all. generic describes them best. Hack, Slash, Loot or Cardinal Quest, despite their visual minimalism, have much more character. and the gameplay of DW is boring at best, IMO. all you get is a static image of your opponent(s) and a text log telling you what's happening. you don't even actually see the enemy in the game world, nor do you get any kind of visual feedback on the damage you do to them, or vice versa.

considering DW is the most expensive game in the bundle, i'm disappointed. Cardinal Quest, Wanderlust and Black Market seem much more appealing to me. they alone might be worth it, but i'm not entirely sold yet.

if the bundle would also give me Steam keys, or at least Desura keys, i wouldn't have to think twice about it.

also, did the price go down? i could swear it was €5.99, not 4.99, earlier today...

Indie RPG pricing outside sales and bundles generally starts at batfuck and ends at apeshit. I measure their prices in GOG BG2s, or Planescapes, if they're extra pretentious. Never seen one with a favourable ratio AND superior to freeware stuff.

Have you tried the free Black Market already?

I'm fairly certain Wanderlust is intended to be a co-op game. Even if it's possible to play singleplayer (I don't know if it is possible), it's always billed and sold as multiplayer.

Well, it doesn't even use the GG downloader. You get an archive from the manuals/patches section of the game page at GG, unzip the archive, run WL, it instantly goes online connects to a server and starts downloading updates several times the archive's size.

Bought the bundle since it seems like a great deal.

Had problems getting Kenshi to run though. Everytime i went to click 'Ok' after confirming the settings it would just give me a crash error, anyone else experience this?

Cardinal Quest Soundtrack unlock point reached but don't see where it can be downloaded. Only 280 bundles needed for Puckbang. There's pretty much snowball's change in hell of getting Mordor from this bundle. Don't really see how this bundle would sell 50000 copies. Hopefully it'll at least reach shhh... it's a secret! unlock level and hopefully it's something interesting.

Kenshi shows as having "Other DRM" for me and that's usually serial (my copy has one but won't be trying it for quite a while).
