Drakhyrr: Not to mention people who, like me, where actually waiting for the revelation of the secret to buy the bundle. Ended up skipping it.
This is me.
I don't buy sight unseen.

seaspanky: Really unfortunate this bundle was run this way. Hopefully the next one has more Dungeon Crawls and goes better.
While I'm all for more RPG bundles, I much rather have indie strategy bunble for a change. I don't think I've seen one yet. I don't think there've more than few strategy games included in general.

Petrell: He SUGGESTED it, he did not demand it. GG decided to ignore his suggestion. Poor choise IMHO. Had it had lower (reachable) treshold, bundle might have sold more. Same with having secret bonus as I doubt people invested much on thing they knew nothing about. Sales only increased AFTER it became obvious the secret would be unlocked.

Psyringe: The latter might also have to do with the fact that there was no clear information about whether customers would receive the bonuses unlocked after their purchase. My guess is that many people waited for others to unlock the bonuses for them because they didn't want to risk not getting the bonuses themselves.

The alleged "indie PR guru" who managed this bundle certainly made some questionable choices ...
This is exactly what I did. I waited for the secret to be unlocked, but when it wasn't, I still bought it with like 30 minutes left. Just in case they did something decent like throw in Mordor.

FINGERS CROSSED.

"indie PR guru"? More like guru meditation.

nice going. if all of us did that, the secret would never have been unlocked...

I would say that their fears are looking pretty justifiable right about now though. I was in the same boat and almost did the same thing.

You must also consider that, if I was in doubt in the first place, it was because I didn't consider the initial games to be interesting enough.

If they revealed the bonus and it turned out to be good, it could have added that little extra weight necessary to change my decision.

The fears of only getting six excellent games? I think you're placing a bit too much stock in whatever this bonus turns out to be. The point of the bundle was the six games presented up front. If you wanted it for that, great, but if not I don't think whatever the secret was is going to change anyone's mind.

why? the price set is for the 6 known games. the bonus items are just that: boni. you get 6 games for as little as $6. now you want 7 or 8 games for that? aren't you just a little bit too greedy here?

i understand that, but at the same time, people need to contribute for the bonus items to unlock. and we're talking about a price point as low as $6. that's about $1 per game... why not just buy, hope for the best, give those indies a chance and encourage GamersGate to provide a second bundle in the future?

Personally I bought the bundle to get Devil Whiskey (I've got about 20 hours into it already, and am loving it - just like playing Bard's Tale all over again), so even though I am eager to find out what that mystery secret will be, that wasn't the reason I bought the package.

Saying that, though, it is kind of irritating not being given any hint / clue / word or even "we are working on it". It kind of feels like they just said "oh well, sales over, let's move on".
i was on the fence on this one (having Steel and Cardinal) and depending on what the bonus was I was going to buy but did not because they never revealed.
Seems like the mystery bonus was such a mystery that even GamersGate don't know what it is.

They mark GameTutor threads about bonus content as solved, and they sink into the depths of support questions.

Which is quite odd, to be honest. I know that the mods at GamersGate sometimes mark threads as "solved" if they turn into an exchange of opinions rather than an effort of helping someone with a problem - the Game Tutor is no forum. However, content that was announced but (so far) not delivered seems like a legitimate (and yet unsolved) problem to me ...

An understandable reason for the delay could be that the secret was planned to be "pictures of our staff getting drunk with your money". Obviously that takes time.
