Woolytoes: Quote: Gamersgate FAQ:
"Can I download the game on my office PC and install it on my home PC which does not have an Internet connection?
No, you cannot. Internet connection is required to install games"
For me an absolute NO GO! It tells me that there is some kind of stupid DRM involved. Funny thing, it is indeed stupid and useless.
Downloading and Installing are two complete different pair off boots. Like Apples and Pears, ya know?
I did explain how to bypass that... "Can I download the game on my office PC and install it on my home PC which does not have an Internet connection?

You can install on a computer without an internet connection, you just have to do the thing that I said before and then copy the installer to the computer using a pen-drive, 800 floppy discs, however you want.
Fred_DM: only in theory. nowadays it's common that you need an internet connection to install games, even physical copies.
but this is all besides the point because GamersGate downloads can easily be backed up DRM-free. no point in arguing about theoretical issues when there are practical solutions.
Yeah, but when a game is DRM-free it shouldn't require internet to install. If Woolytoes doesn't want to bypass the stupid downloader like I explained, that's his loss...but this is all besides the point because GamersGate downloads can easily be backed up DRM-free. no point in arguing about theoretical issues when there are practical solutions.
