ElPixelIlustre: By the way, if someone doesn't have King's Bounty, do yourself a favor and buy it. Is one of last year best games (and my favourite one).

this
and gamersgate has been fine for me. don't buy a $50 game as your first purchase, but gg is as close to gog's holy example as any game download service gets

Paul_cz: Anyway, I never used them - are they OK?

I find them to be far better than Steam these days. And I've now purchased far more from GG in the last few months than I have from Steam.

MaverickRazor: I think it should patch to 1.1
I had a quick look on 1c's website and they only list downloads for the US Aspyr published version and the EU 505 Games published version. Not sure which one you would need, but I would suggest you might as well give one or both of them a try before you decide to buy a new copy from GamersGate.

That's the problem, mine is neither of those versions so neither of the patches work.

MaverickRazor: Yes the PhysX Patch is available for download from GamersGate once the game has been purchased.

You can tell if the water looks like bonafide water and less videogamey than normal, or if your framerate turns to s**t. Whatever comes first.

MaverickRazor: I have so far picked up Necrovision and Cryostasis, but I reckon I will probably get a few more by the end of the week.

How is Cryostasis? Been heavily considering it.
Edit: nevermind, SecuROM. :P

Cryostasis is a fine game, but it feels sooooo lineal (the game basically is: go through a corridor, warm yourself, kill a scary guy, do weird things to a dead guy... repeat)
I loved Cryostasis. I have European version of it and after nVidia's physx patch DRM has been removed.
Only 1C game I enjoy is IL-2. I pass on all these games. Well... maybe not Necrovision, but whatever.

Can I ask you a personal question? Please forget I`m from GOG team right now. :-)
You`ve made "copy-paste" threads on Steam, Impulse and GOG.com forums about GamersGate promo. What for, self-PR? Or you want to see how guys from these portals react on direct advertising of similar resource?
Personally I`m not against it. I like when people share the news about promos. It really helps gamers to get the best deals. I`m gamer myself and I`m also looking for them, but don`t you think it is too much?
P.S. I`m not even telling anything about the fact you somehow don`t respect us by breaking rules GOG team kindly asks to follow.
P.P.S. This was only my own opinion.
I've been reading that Cryostasis has serious performance problems because it doesn't support multicore processing (?!), so I'm getting the demo first...

Hi, first of all I am really sorry you thought I am advertising something. I am just a gamer not working in Paradox Interactive or Stardock or CD Projekt RED or Valve or IGN Network. I just wanted to help gamers like me to know the price cuts of the games. I am doing this other sites for GOG deals too. I think CD Projekt RED doesn't care about that because they are thinking PC gamers too. Also we have similar topics on these forums too. I just want you to know I am not advertising anything. Have a nice day. :)
Also I am working in a Turkish gaming magazine called TrGamer and I am watching the game sites and media, and making news about these deals too.

Frankly speaking I don`t know how to call such a thread with a direct link if not direct advertising of a promo action. Lots of our users are discussing different promos on different ESD platforms but they discuss not in such aggressive way. Bansama even made a special page on his web-site that shows what promos are running now and when they finish. Why not to link people there for example? From that source they`ll get much more useful information.
Probably you did something like this on other forums about GOG promos (what I doubt). If you did so, I think you were breaking the rules of that forums. What is not good I think.
BTW: Have you ever read this - http://www.gog.com/en/support/website_help/forums_feedback ? In the ideal world all these rules should be followed. We`re not living in a such, still let`s try to follow some rules from time to time ;-)
Valve is allowing these kind of threads on their forums and it is allowed and they didn't lock these kind of threads as I can see. I can show you some threads about other deals. But if you don't allow these kind of topics in these forums I won't post any of the similar threads in here. You can delete this topic too. :)

And also we have here advertising thread as you called too.

Sorry I do not want tp argument but I just wanted to help people to know the deals. :)

In all fairness though, such topics posted in the general forum (where the moderators usually hover around) they do almost always get locked. For example: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=888152
Personally though, I do like to hear of sales all over, especially for services I may not usually use (hence why I added such to my site), but I tend not to post when I add to those sales here unless in reference to a GOG sale.
Actually looking at the rules again, even my thread about the Wishlist could be taken as a form of advertisement especially now the primary reason I posted it here has now been addressed directly by GOG.
Then again, consider too that GOG relies on word of mouth to attract new users, and some of those probably come via other DD services -- indeed I first heard of GOG via the Steam forums.
Meh. In fairly tired rambling state, I'm just trying to say that I don't think such topics should be a huge problem, but perhaps refrain from linking -- if someone is interested in the topic, I'm sure they'll find it via Google. That sort of rule works fairly well for some places at least.

I don't mind the advertising and the copy-paste style that acare84 allegedly has done. If it's news, it's news. If it's a good deal and I like it, then I'll go and get it, and thanks to acare84 for telling me. If not, then whatever. Ho-hum. Move along.

Okay, so you said what I was trying to say better. Guess I need to hit that little green + thingy.
