Yeah, sounds like it's just the original version. Also sounds like the console version is just the same game but in widescreen natively. EA did the same with Medal of Honor, so it's not surprising.

Saves me money if EA puts Alice up for sale after the bundle deal, so thanks for that.
It's surprising because the release on the official website talked about it being remastered. Benefit of the doubt, I'll say there was a miscommunication in the lines.

Alice was never released for the consoles back in the day. Perhaps they're just calling this new port a remastering? It certainly sounds more appealing.
A little question concerning the new Alice, nothing to do with the remaster though, what is it about this "Weapons of Madness and Dresses Pack" DLC ?

Is it a "free with every copy but have to bought it with second hand ones" or is it something that is exclusive only with the Origin version ?

Some extra dresses which have gameplay effects and another tier of weapons apparently (I've only played about an hour of A:MR).

This link has a video of it:

For pc, I think they're currently an exclusive for Origin though I suspect they'll be offered as DLC shortly after the complete collection promotion ends. I strongly suspect American McGee's Alice will also be offered as DLC.

Either way just ignore that bullshit and be better off for it.
PC Gamer's Logan Decker says the Origin release has widescreen options. Still, if that;s the only change I hardly care that much. It's probably vert- too.

In any case this is not up for sale on its own today as I thought it might be, since the bundle ended.

That's what I do 99.99% of the time, it's just that I read a review summary that seemed to imply that the DLC was actually the latest upgrade of the in-game weapons (i.e. they removed the last weapons upgrades and sell/give them as a DLC) that's why I was curious about.

Bizarre, mine doesn't. At least not from the internal menu (goes from 640x480 ---> 1600x1200 without any widescreen choices). Do you have a link by any chance? I may uninstall the original release and try again.

I'm sorry if I steered you wrong in this. :(

It's on his twitter. About 6 hours ago... I don't know how to link to one tweet. He might be wrong. Or maybe there is a widescreen toggle you missed. Either way no big deal, if that is all they changed I wouldn't buy it on Origin anyway.

That really isn't a change at all, you could already do that with the original game through a simple cfg edit (and it was hor +, not vert -).

It's Origin exclusive, but you can lol yourself to sleep tonight, because that DLC can be unlocked through an .ini setting.

Reddit:

Open Game\Alice2\AliceGame\Config\DefaultEngine.ini (in my case for Win 7, library\documenst\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\AliceGame\config\AliceEngine.ini) find : GIsSpecialPCEdition=FALSE change to: GIsSpecialPCEdition=TRUE

If that actually works it's kind of funny. Piracy without the bother of dowloading anything.

Obviously I am not going to try it.

Thanks... so it's again a classic case of "we didn't remove anything from the game to make the 0 day DLC, the DLC was made after the game was finished and went gold".
