Note that GameFAQs shares all its boards with GameSpot (except for a few special boards on each site that are not accessible on the other site), so in most places you get double the stupidity for the same price.

There are some pretty decent folks there, actually, as long as you limit yourself to sufficiently obscure games, or ones that weren't released in English. I was around on the FFXII boards before and after the English version was released - they were worlds apart. The post-release forums could be accurately described as tiny islands of sanity amidst a vast ocean of shit. (That goes the internet in general, I guess)

Huh... I often find 4chan folks in /r9k/ board to be pretty decent (relative to other boards)... and /x/ sometimes have genuinely scary creepypasta and bricks to be shat. Classic Gaming board (or any 'dead' console general board) in Gamefaqs is also not as horrible as other more 'mainstream' boards.

The only nice thing I ever heard about the people on 4chan came from a conversation about Superman. Apparently some folks were discussing ol' Supes and someone just kinda out of the blue, asked something like "Hey, I wonder what Superman does when kids draw pictures of him and give them to him?"
And someone else responded "He probably has an enormous refrigerator in the Fortress of Solitude and he takes all the drawings that little kids give to him and puts them up on the door."
