I didn’t choose the clown life, the clown life chose me.

The Whispered World: Special Edition, a charming, hand-drawn adventure of the boy-clown Sadwick and his caterpillar pal Spot, is available on GOG.com for $15.99 (20% off the full price until 9:59 AM GMT on 13 May 2014.

Sadwick is a twelve-year old with a melancholic vein. He not only dislikes the circus, where he lives with his brother and grandpa, and his normal life, where he cannot travel and explore the world, but also, he’s just been told in a prophetic dream that the world is coming to an end, and it’s his fault. And even though Sadwick is not happy with the way things are going for him, he is not going to let the world just end without a fight. This sad clown will travel through four game acts, with his caterpillar friend Spot, to the King’s Castle in Corona to prevent the beautiful but perilous world of Silentia from sliding into destruction.

This is just the beginning of an engaging and emotional dreamlike game starring this uncommon but sympathetic pair trying to save everything that exists. The graphics are suited for a fairy-tale: absolutely stunning hand-drawn scenery and animated cartoon characters. Subtle humor, usually coming from Sadwick’s cynical comments, strange encounters, otherworldly locations, and imaginative riddles guarantees an unforgettable adventure.

New in the Special Edition is the developers' commentary featuring Jan 'Poki' Müller-Michaelis and Marco Hüllen, as well as the in-game orchestral soundtrack, unlockable achievements, an alternate ending, and re-polished graphics in some scenes. The Whispered World: Special Edition is an enchanted point-and click with twists and turns to hold you occupied for days. The game won “Best Story” and “Best Youth Game” at the 2009 German Game Developer Awards and is an excellent adventure game for all ages.

WTF is wrong with that price, a pal of mine bought it on promo at like 2 or 3, it couldn't have been more than 10 dollars.

What developper/editor would, in their right mind, puts such a high increase in price on their game? Have they sold too many?

Daedalic increased the pricing of all their games several months ago. All of their games are now 19.99$. Only A new beginning the exception with the price of 9.99$ and Journey of a Roach with 14.99$. And also for example Edna & Harvey game has been split into two parts and such. They make strange and unlogical decisions at Deadalic it seems. I mean its not like gamers, especially on gog won't notice changes.

Woohoo! Thanks Daedalic for changing your mind and giving the update free to people who believed in you enough to already buy the game earlier. Way to not make me sorry to be an early bird. :)

I see hope for the world after all.

Especially when they put their newer games like alcatraz and blackguards on sale within a few months, alcatraz even within 1 month. They do make very unlogical decisions.
Is the "orchestral soundtrack" a new option in the game? Because the soundtrack file remains the same.
Thanks for the free update.
What's funny, on steam I'll have to pay extra to upgrade.

Daedalic is truly a "wonderful" company.
Thank you for the free update GOG and Daedalic!
Time for GOGers to retract their harsh words on previous thread maybe?

Because their behavior is somehow to be applauded for?

Well they offered it as a free update, I don't see why we should complain.

It's cause they know Steam users are stupid enough to pay for patches. Appropriate treatment really.

It's the truth, that kinda thing here would cause a shitstorm, but on Steam milking the morons for glorified patches (DLC) is just another day. Steam even releases outright scam games through Greenlight which aren't taken downAs consumers Steam userbase isn't much better than the Apple store audience for what they accept.

Eh, not really a time for that. They are still doubling the price of a five years old game which means 10$ for new content of a very questionable value. Sure, I'm not personally affected but it doesn't change the fact that it's a very shitty move. And since it's not the first time they did something really bad I won't support them anymore nor retract my harsh words. Sure, it would have been so much worse if they had followed their initial plan but it just means they are doing one terrible mistake instead of two. After Edna & Harvey issue (which btw didn't effect me personally neither) I was already on the edge so one more mistake is more then enough for me.

I do respect people who think otherwise but as for me - I'm just tired of a way they are handling their business so until they come to their senses I'm done with them.
