I just had a fairly annoying experience. I saw Space Rangers 2 on sale at $3.99, read a few of the reviews, added it to my basket and the price showed up as $9.99. I must literally have been making the decision to buy it during the last couple of minutes of the sale and may well have been only 15-30 seconds too late. As far as I know, I had no way of knowing this.

Would it be possible for offers on this site to be accompanied by some kind of countdown timer, so that we could know how long we have to take advantage of them?

I think he meant on the actual Game card page for when they only have one game on sale that is not part of a publisher sale.

Example: Tropico 3 is on sale right now by itself but there is no timer anywhere to say when it exactly finishes.

This was a gem promo, though, and those really don't have a countdown.

Maybe for GOG gems or other specialty sale, they could get a promo card or there could be a special sales card which contains a list of all sales on GOG right now and timer for when they end? Just as another UI option/idea.

I suggest countdowns in the sales tab. Which would mean reworking the sales tab, since currently all the games are arranged alphabetically regardless of which promo they're on, and a countdown for each individual game would clutter up the page.

Thus, each promo can have a subheading with the countdown that leads to the promo page (not the newspost - the faster to checkout the better; the promo page can use some linking to the newspost though), and the sections arranged in, err, temporal order (fastest expiring first).

Just knowing when the sale ends is nice.

How hard is it to read the promo announcement and realize that you only have X amount of time left before the sale ends? It's cool that GOG throws up a timer for the weekend sales, but they aren't really necessary when every promo announcement has a precise expiration date/time listed, usually as the very last line/paragraph. The last thing we need is multiple timers plastered all over the site, just because a few people can't be bothered to read. There comes a point when we've gone way past user friendliness into "holy crap, we're turning this place into GeoCities". Just picturing the front page as it is now, but with a ticking clock for every title that is on sale makes me want to have a seizure.

I think a small timer under the price on the gamepage would be great and not clutter up anything :)
