Hi
and sorry if i'm posting this in the wrong place. I was wondering whether there was a place we could make requests to gog about classic games we'd be interested in.

Rgrds, Denis.
There's a wishlist, but I don't know if the GOG guys actually look at it:

There is a wishlist.

Since it's no longer linked to from the main page, it's not used very much and there is not much chance that it actually matters though.

Edit; screwed up the link

I suspect the wishlist is no longer linked, or relevant is because GOG are now "known". They would have approached all the publishers by now, and they'll take a game if they can get it (to work). So the wishlist becomes irrelevant. If the publisher wants to come to GOG, I suspect they can, and have already been invited.

ah well, thanx though guys.
Who knows, maybe high wishlist numbers combined with GOGs growth, will compel more publishers to sign.

If you're gonna make a beg thread, search the game in the forums first. Also note the official beg thread.

This means that there should be absolutely no more beg threads about System Shock, LucasArts or Heroes Chronicles.

Also, wishlist.

Also, all requests are pretty much pointless. GOG probably already thought about the game you want to request.

I'm not sure that it is pointless, though you are right about GOG knowing about said games. I'm thinking if GOG gets enough request for one game they may be able to offer a better deal to the publishers, and thus be able to get it. Further, GOG may be able to convince the publisher to sell said game by showing them how many people want their game(s). Who knows, I think it's probably only a matter of time any way before most 'better' old games are rereleased for digital download somewhere. Afterall, right now they are just sitting collecting dust and making no one any profit, and that's not good for anybody.

I know the wishlist sits on the back end of nowhere, slowly mildewing, but we do still look at when we're deciding what titles we're going to work on restoring first when we sign a new publisher. Coala and I also look at the wishlist (and mobygames / metacritic) when we set up the release schedule.

So it's still a valuable reference. And we will use a Phoenix Down potion on it one of these days to bring it back to its former glory.

If you do, please add some much needed functionality to it first, such as the ability to sort entries by the number of votes. The top 10 is a self-reinforcing list because there is no way of seeing what lies immediately below it. Therefore, once a game is in the top 10, it stays there, because it gets a lot more votes than any game not in the top 10. It should be very easy to implement, and should have been there from the beginning, to be honest.

Yes, that's one of the reasons they took it down. It wasn't very good.

They could also just have, y'know, fixed it ;-)

Like the support tab on the account page that was removed in order to "fix a bug", never to be seen again :-p

Disclaimer: I love GOG, it's the best DD company anywhere, as far as I'm concerned. But that doesn't mean it's perfect.

It's ALMOST perfect! :D
Couldn't you somehow link the list with mobygames' game list in a way to make shure that only real and relevant games get onto the list? It really annoys me to see titles of video games or nonexisting games.
And please make it easier to search through the list and browse it.
