First off, I love this site so far. I love the idea behind it, I love the site design itself - excellent work. Unfortunately, there aren't any games available yet that I'd want to purchase... I'm confident that will change soon.
I noticed there's already a "Game Wish List" thread - obviously that is and will continue to be a huge topic. Would it be easier for both the GOG team and the end-users to have an interactive tally control in order to input requests or "bump" requests that are already on the list?
I did a quick look around and I can't find a site right now that has an example of this, but I know I've seen them... basically just a list (from most requested to least) of games. End-users can add a vote to a game they'd like to request, while the GOG team can easily see what the end-users are looking for. Sure, the list would get big and people can probably vote more than once (depending on implementation)... but in my mind it beats reading (currently) 24 pages of requests in order to tally up how popular a given request is.
Just a quick $0.02 cent suggestion. I expect that $0.02 to be taken off a future purchase :-)
so you mean like some kind of application where it has the text
"what game do you want on GOG?"
then a scrool where you can choose the game
under that there is a text box with the text "dont see the game here? type it here" after you typed it it will enter the scrool box for others to choose. that way GOG can see what games people want more easy then going through a forum topic?
is that what you mean?
Sounds perfect to me. We get simplified requesting system, GOG gets accurate accounting of what we want.
sounds like a nice idea

Pretty much, yeah. I'm not necessarily asking GOG to implement this... they've already done a great job with their site. I'm sure there's a site that offers this functionality for free... I'm just not sure what exactly to look for :-)
It's not exactly your standard poll...
good idea but it will need some rules cause i would, for example, vote for most of the games there :P secondly, this would be really big list of games as you can see from the forum wish list :)

Too true. It might not be feasible with so many varied requests. I suppose it could be paginated... but then you'd need a search for your game or to be able to match a user input to an existing entry. It gets complicated fast.
I don't think there's much of a problem for voting for multiple games though... I mean, it's meant to be a total of how many people want each game, right? I'd be more concerned about people voting over and over for the same game... but then again, GOG is kind of based on the honor system.
So, any official word on plans to do this in a more organized manner? If all else fails, someone could put up a simple PHP page for this purpose. Though limiting the number of votes per user, and registering users would be trickier - in fact, probably impossible to properly do without actually having access to the GOG accounts.

i actully tried to put in all the requests from the original wish list forum into a spreadsheet useing excell, But the damn wish list is already over 20 pages long. it took me a hour to go through 5 pages. so i kinda gave up

At least I know that I am not the only one that tried this. Except that I tried it in notepad. Oh what a nightmare. Now the post is nearly twice as long.
