Duty Calls is a parody. It is not associated with Activision or the Call of Duty games. 1. Duty Vision™ slows down the action so you can unload a storm of bullets 2. Immersive dialogue from the front lines 3. Cold, calculated realism 4. Killing animations motion captured from real actors 5. True-life reloading system allows for mistakes in putting the cartridge in the gun 6. Iconic sound effects 7. Thwart an enemy threat that could topple the country and possibly the world 8. There are a couple of free games I know are pretty fun
Xonotic - arena shooter similar to unreal tournament
Diaspora - Fan made flight sim based in the battle star galactica universe
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
Player SNES, NES, Sega Genesis, and Gameboy/GBC/GBA games. They are the best. Don't play without something like this though:

Or any controller doesn't matter which.

Chrono Trigger

Donkey Kong Country 1-3
Earthbound
A Link to the Past
Ogre Battle
Pocky and Rocky
Space Megaforce
Sunset Riders
Super Castlevania 4
Super Mario RPG
Super Turrican
Wild Guns

Adventures of Lolo 1
Castlevania 1, 3
Contra / Super C
Jackal
Megaman series

Wow! Thanks for the great response. I now have more titles than I know what to do with. Please keep posting. Also thanks for the free game ideas. Those are always good.
Baldur's Gate 2 was an excellent game.

If you're willing to spend some time downloading modules, Neverwinter Nights is the greatest value in the history of gaming. Note that NWN mods generally refer to complete adventures/stories as opposed to simple graphics upgrades/scripting/equipment stuff (even though it also has those). The game even continues to have a solid online community, even if it's split up all over the place.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is also good for the same reasons, but it never reached the same levels as the original (from an overall content standpoint). Also, it's not available on gog.
Some of my favorite GOG shooters:

-Painkiller
-Unreal
-Rise of the Triad
-Blood
-Serious Sam First/Second Encounter
-Alien Shooter 2 (I personally wouldn't bother with the first one. Just get the sequel, since it's better in almost every way)

If you're ok with Steam and want to try something weird and unique, I also recommend this one:

Also, screw the haters, I'm still going to recommend Far Cry 2. If you're the sort of person who likes sandbox gameplay and doesn't mind a few quirks.
WOOPAH.

RPG: Arcanum, Might and Magic 6-pack, Planescape: Torment, Arcanum, Fallout, Fallout 2, Arcanum, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 (you want them together for trilogy or TuTu), Geneforge, Temple of Elemental Evil, and also Arcanum. :P

Strategy (and related things): Alpha Centauri, Zeus + Poseidon, Master of Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Total Annihilation, FTL, King of Dragon Pass. I highly recommend checking out Dragon Pass, even if you're not much of a management fan. It's more like an interactive story with management elements, and it's really great.

Adventure: The Longest Journey, Syberia, Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive, Sanitarium, Still Life, Gemini Rue, Resonance, Myst.

Other: Painkiller, Thief series (especially 2).
