Elmofongo: Never read the books (but love to) so I have no comment.
Read them! Read them right now! They are amazing and captivating and beautiful (and just as full of blood and sex as the show is apparently). And the epicness sometimes is great (mostly epic things happen to and around Dany; sometimes Jon). :)

Elmofongo: Never noticed because I forgot who Daario Naharis was :P
I had to look the name up too, I never remember names.

But! he went from this guy, to this guy.

The second guy is a music producer in the show Nashville which is my guilty pleasure. Worlds collide. I'm not sure I can get used to him playing that role.
Just when you thought only Dr Who could get away with chucking away leading actors left right and centre.... along comes Game of Thrones to try and prove otherwise!

But no, it doesn't work, only because of the sheer the brilliantness of the story does it manage to struggle on despite this idiocy.

Edit: (Kill the rest if you must, but at least keep Sean Bean)

Telika: Hah. Just rewatched Batman Begins (surprisingly good on second vision, possibly the best of the trilogy, but possibly requiring the others in order to be balanced and appreciated better), and, yargl : King Joffrey. Freaked me out more than Cillian Murphy.
And don't forget that Little Finger is the CIA op at the start of the third new batman movie!

Sort of a slow episode, though I LOVED the last scene with Arya and The Hound. Spoiler (not really) - I don't really like the new Daario. Honestly, though he was only in a handful of scenes I thought the last one was perfect and find this one to be a bit, for lack of a better word, cumbersome. Season 3 Daario was perfect - why replace him? Seriously I have no clue who the guy was but how hard could it have been to re-sign him for season four??? (Minus points for me if he is a famous Aussie soap opera king worth $1 million an episode ;) )

Elmofongo: Season 4 begins tonight with its first episode.

I just want to say am I the only one who does not care for Daenerys Targaryen? When I rented the DVDs I always skip her segments because I just find it mot interesting I care more about whats going on in Westeros and the War of Five Kings. I already know her plot in this story, but so far her plot is just dragging on, I rather just wait until she finally lands on Westeros with her Army at last.
As far as the HBO shows go (won't go into books) I really like her role. The season ending sacking of Quarth was one of my "favs," as was the reveal that she spoke Valyrian all along ;) ... and I'm a huge fan of Jorah's character and his role in Daenery's story

There are no soap operas being made in Australia worth 10Cents let alone 1 million! I think all the main bulk of the resources are going towards reality TV instead.

So enjoy your Russel Crows and what not from down under because with all this reality TV going on here, i don't see where the next generation of talent is going to come?

Edit: or i dunno, perhaps our famous chef's or renovators or weight loss champions will rise and follow in Russel Crows footsteps?? I think NOT.

It won't come from anywhere, which is a sad thing :( Or rather it will eek and squirm its way from far fewer places... but still a bit sad

So if he's not a soap star then I want to know why the heck they couldn't sign the "real" Daario to another season damnit! ;)

I like to watch shows one episode after the other, even if I don't actually do that haha, so going to wait till the season ends ^^

Not like anything can spoil it for me anyways, already read the books.
great episode! I want to see the next one already :(
I'm interested in Dany's character. Not as much as Aria, Tyrion, Jon, Jaime, or Brienne, but she's somewhere down there. Her character is very much like the books. Actually the major characters are exactly like the books. It's some of the smaller parts that have either been combined or changed bits about them.
I just finished watching the first episode, I usually keep one on my DVR. So, episode 2 I won't watch until this weekend.

One thing I did notice was the actor that plays Jaime looks totally different this season. I didn't recognize him at all and had to look online to see if they changed actors.

I'm just curious if they are going to catch up to a Dance with Dragons this season as I haven't read that book, yet.
