bevinator: I'm really mad that Hollywood is allergic to ugly. It really wouldn't kill them to cast people that aren't good-looking, especially in roles where BEING UGLY IS IMPORTANT TO THEIR CHARACTER. They can't even do plainness anymore, much less ugliness.
I'd rather have actors that were believable and good. I think you are referring to Tyrion and Brienne. Both characters were described as hideous and that they belonged in a freak show. However, both of those actors are great castings despite not capturing the ugly freakishness of the books.
From the book I expected Cersei to be one of the most attractive women in the kingdom, yet she is average at best. Despite her bland looks she is another great casting for the part. In fact whoever did the casting did one hell of a job in my opinion.
Niggles: For those who have read the books, how close (or loose..) are the tv series compared to the books atm?.
theslitherydeee: Pretty close on overall arc. The books have a ton of sub plots.
There are a few minor characters in the book that get fleshed out more in the show. Like Loras Tyrell and Renly...they were just mentioned in the books.
