Probably spoilers if you haven't seen season 1/read the books.

I understand the way this game is played

Looks good :)

Definitely. Loved the first season 1. Surprised me :).Hope 2nd season is just as great.
I only saw a few episodes, but it looked great. The books are fantastic, you just don't want to put them down.

Indeed, I've got the 5th book but I find myself actually not wanting to read it ... because I know that's all I'll want to do once I start and now is heavy work period for me. :)

The second book was the very first I read from the saga a few years back, and hooked me, it remains my favorite to this day. If the episodes of season 2 are half as good, the series could go on for a while, however the third book will ultimately have to become 2 seasons.. :-D
For some reason, this thread inspired me to start watching this show.

On episode 3 now. Wow, I love it!
I have read all except Dance of Dragons, I was kinda disappointed with the TV series, I thought Tyrion was well played and his dad, Sean Bean was very good too, but I wasnt crazy about the rest of the cast and....dire wolves played by...huskies?
Watch out, we've got crazy books fanboy here!
Reading now the 5th book. The books are just awesome and the first season did a decent job in capturing the atmosphere. Looking forward to season 2 to refresh my memories.

Sean Bean played Eddard Stark, father to Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon Stark, and John Snow. Tyrion is a Lannister and his father, Tywin Lannister, is played by Charles Dance.

The dire wolf pups (important detail there) were actually played by Northern Inuit dogs. One of the few complaints about season 1 by fans of the books was that the dire wolves were underused, and I agree. The creators explained that this was mainly due to budget/technical reasons -- ie. they did not have the money to do a proper CGI version of the wolves and thus did what they could with the dogs. The issue has also been addressed in several interviews regarding season 2, which presumably received a much larger budget, where the creators have acknowledged that they want the (now maturing) wolves to play a bigger role and be handled better, and most likely with CGI... just like a certain other trio of creatures that plays an integral part in the books.

I absolutely loved the first season and thought the casting was stellar. IMO it is the best fantasy production since Lord of the Rings and I can't wait for season 2 :-)

glad to help suck away your free time :)
Can't wait. Love the books, love the show. I thought the casting was excellent and felt that Jon, Robb and Arya were all perfectly portrayed. Sansa was a bit off but nothing major, and Joffery is perfect, I hate him as much in the show as I do in the books haha. Season 2 is gonna be awesome and a lot more 'fantastical' for a number of reasons, 3 in particular.
