Life is beautiful from Deadly premonition
Quite catchy, and a tune for enjoyment. But beware- it quickly gets stuck in your head, like some of those old nintendo tunes :-)

Christopher Tin's Grammy winning Baba Yetu from Civ4!

I find it moving. Particularly coupled with the official music video.
I had never seen that video arrangement before. I think It worth a view!

MobiusArcher: I know Im not supposed to talk about the game here ;-), but Halo has an epic soundtrack.
I haven't been interested in Halo since Microsoft took over Bungie (yes, I know they managed to free themselves since), I do agree about the soundtrack though.

Also... the WoW soundtrack(s)? Just kidding, but some of the inn/tavern pieces are pretty good. I also enjoy Zanzarah's music, but that might be influenced by me liking the game itself quite a bit (it's a third-person pokemon with fairies instead of monsters!)... that reminds me, THQ needs to get their shit together so they can join GOG and get the game here.
No-one's mentioned Settlers 2 yet?
Shame!!
Every piece a classic!

Yumi: chrono cross - absolutely amazing
One of the best videogame introductions ever. I'm kind of over my JRPG interest, but the music sticks with you.

Delixe: Crysis
This track is lovely, Crysis does not get the respect it deserves in all manner of ways including music. Inon Zur is a wonderful composer.

"Desiny of Love" is another great track from him, from Dragon Age 2.

I took a trip back through the Might and Magic series recently and 6-9 had pretty solid soundtracks. I also remember liking the Quake 2 soundtrack.

On a related note, there was an old C64 game based on the Friday the 13th movies which used classical music. Now, every time I hear those songs (usually at weddings) I think of that crappy game.
Streets of Rage 2, Shinobi and Thunder Force III had some great tunes. Even taped the soundtracks back then for my walkman.

Getting Trent Reznor on board with Quake was a master stroke by id.

Zur seems to be very underrated. People tend to concentrate on his themes like Leliana's Song and I am the one from Origins. His whole soundtracks for both Dragon Age games were superb. Also this brutally effective theme from Fallout New Vegas

If this song doesn't touch you in some way there is something wrong with you.

um this is a copy and paste from a music thread I posted in so here it is.

"Music is fairly important to me as I love listening to video game music a lot more than I like to listen to modern day music. here are some links of some and hope to put mor up in this thread.

Arc Rise Fantasia: A JRPG that I have been playing for quite awhile on the Wii. The person who did most of the music in this game is Yasunori Mitsuda, who you may know his music from Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross needless to say he knows what he is doing, here are some songs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iqi-iPFgoG8
nice relaxing theme for one of the biggest cities in the game. Usually town themes in jrpg's are not really that memorable but this is an exception. Great song.

a great boss theme for mostly optional bosses. Man if someone told me putting violins in a song like this would work I would laugh at them but here it sounds awesome.

Donkey Kong country 2
My personal favorite game of all time here, DKC 2 is the perfect sequel to the first. David Wise who also worked on the first really steped it up a bit.

Best song in the game and that is all you need to know.

Great piece that sounds orcastrated but it is not. fits the castle levels really well.

Secret of Mana
One of my favorite rpgs ever right here great game. Hiroki Kikuta is the composer here, he did a great job here. He also worked on many of the other mana games in case you didn't know.

last dungeon in the game theme right here. Great song that fits the last dungeon, approching final boss feel.

This song is very, very relaxing. Just saying.

M.U.S.H.A
best Genesis/Megadrive shooter right here. best soundtrack too. the composer for this game is Toshiaki Sakoda, don't really know what other titles he worked on, all I know is that the music in this game is bad ass

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxj6Vupkn38
If someone should ever tell you the Genesis/Megadrive games had bad music cause of the inferior sound chip than the snes. you should punch that guy in the face, kick him the balls, put ear phones on him and make him listen to this song, seriously.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI_BYVMVaTQ
also a great song in the third level in the game and my personal favorite in the game.

That is all i have for now. may put up more if people want me too :D"

Agreed. New Vegas is easily overlooked because it uses so much music from previous Fallout games, but the new stuff that's there is great. It also had perfectly licensed music, like Hallo Mr. X.
