Trilarion: Yes you're right. Retail will die out unless people do pay extra for the service of being served by a human. For some small but beautifull stores I hope this will be always the case.
Yah, that's actually very true. We have a store here in Lübeck called AB Games that seems to be doing quite well, if only because the people behind the desk are reasonably friendly and know their stuff. If you have a question, you can expect a decent answer, and they'll always be willing to negotiate on price. Compare that to somewhere like Game or Gamestation in the UK or Gamestop in Germany, where they greet you with artificial mannerisms, well-rehearsed word-for-word sales pitches ("would you like to pre-order this?", "would you like additional insurance for that used game, just one euro?") and a complete lack of any insight whatsoever. It's no wonder that people see no difference in service between Play.com and Game.
