Red_Avatar: Rant incoming!
This is why I don't like episodic content unless the company behind it is devoted to going "all the way". How many have failed so far now? Bone only got two episides, the great Sin Emergences was axed after just one, etc.

Sin Episodes wasn't axed, Ritualistic was. From what I've read, it was modestly successful but not enough to save the developer.
Fun game. The dynamic AI would alway throw 4 or 5 more units at me than I could safely handle.

I enjoyed the first episode a lot more than the first episode of HL2 to be honest.
Also, the developer going bust is another example of why episodes are bad. On the one side, it gives them extra funds to further develop the game if they can't afford a full retail game from the start, but it also means we're left with an unfinished game if they DO go bust.

Yeah, I liked Emergence better than HL2:ep1 as well. I was however a little disappointed that they turned Blade into a silent protagonist ala Gordon Freeman. I enjoyed Blade and JC constantly ripping on each other in the original.
I felt I got my money's worth out of Emergence, so I'm okay with them leaving the series there. It is a bit of a bummer though, that they never tie up SiN's plotline, campy though it may be.
Funny that's the Gabe that first came to mind.
