I'm on level 2-4 and what can I say? Plants Vs Zombies is the most charming and amusing game I've played this year.

We don't want zombies on the lawn

I watched the music video and chuckled all the way through. I actually did not have it stuck in my head at that point.
Then my wife started singing it out loud and it's been stuck ever since. :|
I'm stuck on stage 2-2... the night time levels are soo hard.

Gexecuter: Damn i almost got the money to buy the game, i will probably not get Heavy weapon deluxe for preordeering but i don't really care about that game.

See, I didn't think I'd care about it, either. But I figured, eh, free game, might as well get it. And then I started messing with it, and really, the idea of driving a ridiculously over-armed tank into a country named Frigistan in order to steal all their snowcones because this is somehow going to save the Free World from the specter of the Red Menace?
Just tickles me.
And then I went and invaded another eastern European country whose primary export was mail-order brides. And here I am shooting the place up with a tank armed to the treads with a giant monster megalaser.
I am only mildly ashamed to admit I giggled with manic glee.

I didn't like Heavy Weapon that much when it came out, it was ok though. But after trying the demo for PVZ I should've preordered (I'm not going to say no to a free game), this game is awesome and I want it. I also want Dark Sector or Mirror's Edge though, and now that it dropped to $20 it's far too tempting.

Speaking of deals, Defense Grid is $5 on Steam until the 13th.
Oh god. I shall have to rekindle my relationship with Steam it seems.
It's only because of PopCap / other Indie titles though.

Abowen: I just want to know who's passing out the "special" brownies to devs. Stalin vs Martians, Plants vs Zombies....what's next?

Well as far as I know, they wanted to name it Lawn of the dead but ran into trouble.
Plants vs Zombies is a far better name =)
...Mirror's Edge though, and now that it dropped to $20 it's far too tempting.
It's way worth $20. Shame that price drop is US only for those in other countries where it's also sold. Still, I don't regret paying full price for it and managing to get it on Steam thanks to a friend in the US.

Don't worry about it. We're actually getting used to be treated like crap. Some os us are even begining to like it and wouldn't have it any other way. YAY .

Well I simply don't accept it. For example, there's a reason I will never by buying The Last Remnant or any other Square Enix game in Japan. It's retail price is the equivalent of $80. It's Steam price is $60. Buying it import currently costs $50.
There's a huge problem with pricing when it costs less to import than to buy domestic. And yes, I ****ing hate it when companies are willing to drop the price for one country and continue to charge inflated prices in others. Or in the case of Capcom, reduce pricing in all countries except for Japan. I mean, how old is Lost Planet now? Why are they still trying to fleece us for $50 when they only want $20 from customers in other regions? (Even the EU/UK pricing once converted back to USD is cheaper!)
It's about time publishers woke up and realised they can't get away with this price gouging anymore.
But then, even Popcap seem to be doing it by charging $19.99 for customers in Australia and $9.99 for everyone else. Even people in New Zealand are only being charged $9.99 for Plants vs Zombies, so why try and over charge those in Australia?
It's disgusting that companies are still getting away with this crap.
Regional pricing is common for everything else. Food, books, cars, pants, dildos, you name it.
Why should it be different for media?
Different currencies have varying relative values.

That's a pretty good point.

Plants vs Zombies for me, and i'm guessing for most EU, is € 19,95 from PopCap store, so i'm not sure what's up with their prices. On Steam is € 9,99.
For me Mirror's Edge on Steam is € 49,99.
COD 4 new "low price" is $ 39,99 and US people are complaining about it. For me it's € 49,99.
And the list goes on and on.
So, i'm getting used to it. I'm not buying anything because i learned a long time ago that the only way i can vote is with my wallet or CC, but i'm getting used to being offered these 'amazing' deals all the time.
And like you say, companies are in fact getting away with it because lots of people seem to keep buying their games regardless of how much they're being ripped off.
I guess we still have a lot of work to do on the so called globalization.
Untill then i'll keep spending my money here on GOG and other places that provide me with entertainment without ripping me off.

Do all of those things get distributed digitally using an internet connection ?
And the problem is not the currency relative values. It's the absolute value after converting the currency that bothers people
