Hello all, I am an avid PC player and don't really play console games or keep track of them to that great extent. Lately I have been staying at my brother's and only have access to my laptop and a ps3. We have played "Resistance: Fall of man" and that was quite fun. We have finished it now and am wondering if anyone has any good advice on some fun, co-op ps3 games that aren't too new (not gonna pay more than a tenner). Good game play mechanics and fun level design are most important, but I do quite like a good story.
There's always Portal 2...
I think Resident Evil 5 has a local co-op support. It's old so you can probably buy it cheaply. If you like shooters, I am fairly sure Killzone 3 has co-op (haven't played). In addition, PS Store has these co-op games affordable available:

* Cubixx HD
* Super Stardust HD
* Trine 1 & 2

However, if competitive game is ok, I would definitely recommend Blur. I am usually not a fan of racing games, but this is an exception.

+1, especially since it comes with the PC version as well. You can play co-op locally on split screen, and still play co-op PC to PS3 when you aren't at your brother's place.
You might want to check out Resistance 2. It has some of the best co-op on PS3. Shouldn't be too expensive.

I think we played this, but ended up with both of us just using the medic as it was the only way to get through each lesson.
LittleBigPlanet 2. How has no one mentioned that yet?
You may like The Cave. It's a Ron Gilbert game. It has a demo on the store so you always try before you buy but it's got co op for up to 3 people and is quite funny imo. It is a short game though.
Army of Two: The 40th Day
Castle Crashers
Dungeon Siege III
Hard Corps: Uprising
LittleBigPlanet 1 or 2
Resident Evil 5
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (for the Golden Axe and Streets of Rage games)
But PS3 HAS NO GAEMS.
Definitely Portal 2. You can even play it with people that don't usually play games.

Wikipedia always has a list for stuff like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cooperative_games_for_the_PlayStation_3

Enjoy.
Here's another nice site for PS3 co-op games.

http://www.co-optimus.com/system/2/playstation-3.html

That site also lets you browse co-op games for all other platforms. It's pretty neat.
Borderlands on PS3 is REALLY fun, get the GOTY so you also have all the extra DLC for it, you will get hours of fun out of it.
