Mint is one of my favorite linux distros. I have my parents happily running it with no problems at all, with the exception of the odd hiccup or two. :)

If you can run windows, than you should have no problems with Ubuntu or Mint once you learn the little quirks.

Oh, and on topic, I believe Sogi-Ya has learned a valuable lesson. I thought just about everybody even the least bit savvy stopped buying from Gamestop years ago. Hopefully this'll learn ya. Use Amazon, the shipping for $25+ purchases is free, it's quick, you'll be much happier.

It is just more convenient sometimes to go straight to the store and look around. While it is true I can find whatever I want online, but that takes the fun out of shopping. There is nothing more rewarding than finding a hidden gem that I probably wouldn't have picked up if I was simply shopping online.

Heck, that's why I like going to flee markets and pawn shops, its the mystery that is part of the fun. :)

Gamestop sunk to a new low when I went to buy Rage on PC. I see the clerk come out with the discs in paper sleeves and the manual tied to it with an elastic band. The clerk then takes the empty demo case and says here you go. The clerk says it's the last copy and they had to open it to put the box on display. That's all fine and good if you don't have the intention of selling it. I would have been embarrassed to walk out of the back room with loose contents. I would simply have said sorry, we're out.

Suffice to say I refused and went elsewhere.

Unbelievable.

It should have been fine if the clerk had said "We have only the display unit left. Do you want that one?"

They were right in putting an empty box on display and keeping the media in back. That's just prudent merchandise protection. But they should have been upfront about it.

GameStop sank to a new all-time low when not letting a disabled guy into their shop because they were unable to recognise his service horse as a service horse. Even after he told the employee it is a service horse.

Same goes for some company named Marshalls. I have no clue what that is, but probably also some kind of retail store.

Also, is there a difference between service animals and companion animals? Because I've seen some abuse of that system.

A service animal is more or less the guide dog for a blind person. Companion animal is your pet cat/dog/parakeet/whatever :D.

But when does it become ok to ask someone to leave based on their animal? See, that's the problem when you start allowing all sorts of service animals, you start giving people excuses to abuse the hell out of it. Then the people who are legitimately disabled get this shit happening to them because of others.

Also, a service HORSE strikes me as a really poor choice. Dogs are great because they are fairly low maintenance. Horses, even a mini horse, are not.

... yeah um. Gamestop can do that. Guide dogs are one thing. But a horse? Inside a store? Are you serious?

Look, I understand if the guy is disabled and uses the horse to move around. But sometimes you can't stick a horse inside a building.

Edit: Oh wait, a MINIATURE horse. Hm. Well. Guess that's fine... if the horse doesn't poop everywhere.
