What? And you still haven't pre-ordered it? That's OK, tomorrow it will be at Steam, Matrix, etc.

You can use the code STANCHER for 30% off, that makes it $18.20, which is $9.10 per copy. That's less than what you usually pay for today's indie games, $10 at release.

Very, very promising tactical game. This should convince you:

Yawn, doesn't look like much......sort of like Uplink but with shooting instead of hacking and some topdown gameplay.

Don't knock it till you've tried it. You never know when you'll end up liking something in spite of mediocre first impressions. Cogs comes to mind for me.

(I haven't tried FS yet though, despite having pre-ordered it a month ago)

I never said I wouldn't play or like it, just that it doesn't blow me away. The mission dialogs/some of the UI/etc reminds me of Uplink though. Though the minimalistic graphical wireframe style doesn't exactly amaze me much.

When you have little money to work with, minimalist is the style of choice.
Reminds me of Laser Squad Nemesis... good times. Wishlisted. :)
Just started playing it from Matrix d/l. Fun tactical game. I don't see the Uplink connection at all, unless one is referring to the neon-like blue backgrounds. /shrug

True, but my point is that a lot of great games conceal themselves beneath the surface impressions. I was merely advising you on that, since you sounded like you'd written it off immediately based on the media e.g. screenshots ;)
The UI does look quite Uplink inspired (which itself is kinda inspired by various cyberpunk like things). Not too big a fan of the "lighting" though as it ends up looking like random triangles for me.

I like the game fair enough, not good at it, and I'm finding the controls a bit troublesome at times (still haven't figured out how to get a person to stand up from a crouch, wait a second or two then crouch back down, the delay function doesn't seem to affect that, or maybe it's just I get killed every time I try to peek up and duck down.

At any rate, it's a nice fresh take on making the turn based tactical into a semi-realtime game. Not the best experience I've had, but quite enjoyable.

There's minimalist and then there's some stick figures battling in blue box rooms with random color flashes.
Just noticed that when you buy one copy, you get another one to give a friend to play with! So 90's, don't remember anything like this since CyberStorm.

That's what you call good marketing sir.

Well, bought it a week ago... Steam keys should arrive this evening.

If only major publishers understood a thing about good marketing.

Oh well, more room for indies on the market.
