Looking through the list of steam games, I noticed some games in the vicinity of each other that were also bundled together not so long ago (like the Mass Effect Indie Gala, the 30 Flights of Loving Humble Bundle Weekly, the Game of Dwarves Indie Gala..). I'm not sure, but it seems really possible they just buy a lot of those bundles, to resell them on their site. It's with points though, so I'm not sure how (il)legal it is.

All I can say is I have the games and there was no fuss from steam or Desura nor Tremor games themself. I do not know about the legality of the site?

On the surface I don't see anything illegal about it. It is not much different from the giveaway threads here that require you to answer questions or solve a puzzle. The catch with this site is that you have more influence over what you win and when.

You're right.

I'm just wondering, though: what if the site asked you to pay for it? How would it be then?

Like the Blue Coins from Gamers Gate. Or one of the many point systems used in MMOs.

How about this? What if Steam assigned store credit to earning ingame achievments? Would you have an issue spending hours on end grinding for stupid achievments?
