Adventure hat--checked; helpful parrot--checked; ability to move and jump--checked; huge, open, pixelated world--checked. I think we’re ready for some serious adventure.

This particular adventure is serious business: years and years ago, an angry demon tried to destroy the world, but a brave wizard (presumably) shouted “You shall not progress!” and cast the beast away from the realm. The twelve items the wizard used to fight off the monster are out there somewhere, waiting for a hero to collect them and once again save the world from a new hellish threat. You’re just a small boy with an ability to WASD, or ←↑→↓, or move, jump, and crawl, and with a little help from a parrot you will become a hero.

Treasure Adventure Game is a open world platform adventure game with an endless (oh yes we’ve checked) supply of islands, treasures, secrets, quests, puzzles, and characters. It is mostly quest-based with the main story in the center and a few smaller tasks handed to you by NPCs in need of assistance. The graphics are a 2D pixelated wonder that you will fall in love with right from the beginning. The 100% retro graphics, superb soundtrack, and excellent gameplay combine to make this game a fantastic journey through a world in which you can find something new every time you get back to Treasure Adventure Game.

Explore, enjoy the story, talk to everyone, and push every rock and wall! Get lost in Treasure Adventure Game, that is available now on GOG.com, absolutely free.

JudasIscariot: How long does the boat sail? Can't seem to do anything about the boat just sitting there in the storm...

Fred_DM: are you sure you're skipping all of the dialogue with "A"? there's a lot of dialogue at the start and you have to press "A" a lot to progress...
There is no dialogue. Nothing. Just the boat bobbing over and over as in everything is animated (the rain, the sea, the boat bobbing etc) but nothing is happening. No dialog at all.

anoffday: Hmm. Game crashes after I get the boat. Also, doesn't appear to support controllers or fullscreen and it took me forever to figure out how to even select new game. You have to hit Z to select new game, options, etc. It looks fun and I wish I could enjoy it, but it seems like it needs some more work.

robitstudios: If you run Setup.exe you an choose controller and video settings.

As far as it crashing, did you try things I suggested in this previous post?:

I'm having a semi-similar issue. I can't change the game settings in setup.exe. I can CHANGE the settings, but I don't seem to be able to save the changes made.

TheEnigmaticT: I haven't the slightest idea. However, if you submit a ticket to support because you seem to be having control issues, perhaps they can determine what's going on and address it from there.
Yeah I guess I'll have to because this is very odd. Figured running the game as admin, in win95 compat mode and UAC turned off would do the trick.

Also you can try disabling your anti virus software if you have any. It looks like the game has trouble accessing the assets and just enters a loop.

It should save automatically when you close it. Maybe you managed to open it as read only or something?
Hmm, shame it doesn't seem to like Wine too much, I can't be arsed to reboot to Windows at the moment... oh well, it's not as if the game is going to disappear from my shelf anytime soon. I guess I'll get to play it whenever "booted to Windows" and "I remember that I have that treasure something game on GOG to try out" coincides.
Very cute game :)

It doesn't save. Same problem here as well and crashing after grandma's leaving from pier. Compatibility mode doesn't work either.

GOG Team, ideas?

Did you install it to Program Files? It sounds like it might not have write access to the part of the file system where it is installed.

I installed it to the default location the GOG installer put it.
OH GOG you know how to start my day off right! You guys are the absolute best! Thank you for another glorious bit of gaming goodness and for letting me enjoy it for nothing but time. Cheers!

No AV software running as this is a very fresh install of Windows 7 SP1.

Also: I sent off a support ticket but I am not sure if my DXdiag file went through. Any way I can send it to someone in case it didn't make it? The page kept telling me I haven't chosen a file even though I chose one 3 times....

Like other people, I've had problems with resolution and controls setup as it doesn't save the settings.

So, my solution: I went to the developer's website and downloaded the game there, unzipped it in my "My Documents" folder and the the setup was finally working fine. Maybe it's because GOG Games are in the "program files (x86)" folder and it requires some administration rights.

If it doesn't work, you can manually edit the config.ini file in the game directory, it's quite easy to change the resolution there.
Indie games now landing on GOG? Cool.
For the people who are having problems on Windows 7 trying to get the game to save and/or not crash after the opening intro, I recommend trying to run the game as an admin without any other compatibility settings used. For me, it allowed me to continue onto the main game and successfully save without any further problems. (The same fix also applies to the game's control/display setup utility.)
