Adventure hat--checked; helpful parrot--checked; ability to move and jump--checked; huge, open, pixelated world--checked. I think we’re ready for some serious adventure.

This particular adventure is serious business: years and years ago, an angry demon tried to destroy the world, but a brave wizard (presumably) shouted “You shall not progress!” and cast the beast away from the realm. The twelve items the wizard used to fight off the monster are out there somewhere, waiting for a hero to collect them and once again save the world from a new hellish threat. You’re just a small boy with an ability to WASD, or ←↑→↓, or move, jump, and crawl, and with a little help from a parrot you will become a hero.

Treasure Adventure Game is a open world platform adventure game with an endless (oh yes we’ve checked) supply of islands, treasures, secrets, quests, puzzles, and characters. It is mostly quest-based with the main story in the center and a few smaller tasks handed to you by NPCs in need of assistance. The graphics are a 2D pixelated wonder that you will fall in love with right from the beginning. The 100% retro graphics, superb soundtrack, and excellent gameplay combine to make this game a fantastic journey through a world in which you can find something new every time you get back to Treasure Adventure Game.

Explore, enjoy the story, talk to everyone, and push every rock and wall! Get lost in Treasure Adventure Game, that is available now on GOG.com, absolutely free.
Our head of IT points out that this was not actually an IT problem. The people responsible for saying it was an IT problem have been sacked.

Either way, fixed now. :D
Buh... this isn't an old game!

I WANT MY MONEY BACK! HOW DARE YOU POST SOMETHING THAT'S LESS THAN A YEAR OLD
Wow, this game looks awesome! Also, it's new. Super new. And indie. I'm not sure if this is just a one-time thing or the start of awesome things to come, but: Nice! :D
Two problems I've faced so far. First, I can't seem to edit the game settings in the setup. I'm trying to get it to set to fullscreen resolution, but there's no way to save my changes. Second, the game crashes during the opening cutscene, for me at least.
Looks very neat. Can't wait to give it a try later today.
high rated
I'm the developer of Treasure Adventure Game. I wanted to give some tech-support for those of you who are having problems running the game.

First, make sure you have the latest version of Direct X installed.

Second, try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 95. I noticed a big improvement in frame rate and general smoothness after doing it on my end.

If you need help on how to use compatibility mode check this out: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292533

One last thing, if it's still not working for you. Another user posted this in my forums

"compatibility mode by itself did not help, but what finally did it for me was changing my monitor resolution... I set my monitor resolution to 1280 x 1024 and the slowdowns virtually disappeared. (It was previously at 1024 x 768... why the higher res makes it run faster, I don't know... seems kind of counter-intuitive but that's how it is...)"

Thanks.

It doesn't crash for me but the screen starts flickering and turning white. It's unplayable, not happy even if it's free...
The game works fine for me. I didn't try changing the resolution, but changing the controls worked just fine and the game doesn't crash or flicker in any way. Seems like a fun game, I'll try it out some more later.
A free RPG? This has my name written all over it. Thank you GOG and thank you Robit Studios!!
i think i saw a report on this game on RPS sometime last year and thought it might be a cool little game, especially since it kind of looks like the fantastic Terraria. i hadn't realized it has since been released.

will give it a try.
Yau Indie. Been meaning to check this.
A uh, wha? *puts on John Rhys-Davies voice* INDY???? Thanks. I really hope if Indie is going to be on the site, GOG at least gives us the option of a separate shelf... heck why not a living room? That way we can keep different types independent instead of having old & indie mixed.

Another potential issue with GOG doing indie has been raised.... it's harder for indie devs to code for as high a compatibility as possible and as a result more people are likely to encounter issues.
Awesome!

Wishlisted!!!

;-}
The game crashed during the grandmother scene when i'm on a boat. I'll try changing the compatibility thing and get back.
Thanks for the freebie =)
