Does anyone know if it is the newer version with Securom patched out?
And also does it still use GFWL because I won't touch it if it does!

pbmacros: Is there a way to get dummy credit card details to enter, for example a free prepaid credit card?
I don't have one and need something to fill the field.
Credit Card Test Numbers? The ones that are used worldwide to verify that the card parser works correctly?

The first Bioshock never used GFWL, only the second one does.
I don't thinkj they ever removed SecuROM, they just lifted the limited activations.
Awesome after using gamefly my card was blocked. Lol reading how much I use my card is sad

Thanks, but didn't work,
It requires an expiration date and a "CVV2 Code".
After using one of the codes above its says CVV2 not valid.

Seems I won't get my hands on this free offer :(

SLP2000: how about DRM?

OmegaX: The non-Steam versions have SecuROM with unlimited activations IIRC.
Thought that was the DRM.

Not worth it then.
I hope one day they will lift this enter credit card crap, have other options(like paypal) ect. i might actually use their service
I created a new account and grabbed the free BioShock offer. Then I remembered that I already own the game (silly me)... I'd be happy to relinquish my account to somebody, but I'm not keen on my credit card details being stuck in there... there's no way to remove it.

If anyone is willing to let me put their own credit card info into the account, I'll gladly change the email address to yours and give you the account. However, I realize this is asking a lot, and for the record, it's not something I would do myself. So I'm just throwing the option out there if anyone is willing to take me up.

EDIT: For full disclosure, I did download and install BioShock once to test it. I uninstalled it via the GameFly client. I don't know if this releases an activation slot or not. Also, the download/install process is pretty painless. It requires the GameFly client, but does not require a GfWL or any other such account... only the GameFly account/client. Lastly, there is no key provided that I can see/find anywhere.

Licurg: The game is available in these countries:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.
No luck for Croatia, then. Thanks Licurg

Madmate: snip
You misspelled my name...
I think I'm going to skip this one out, I'd rather not give out my credit card number especially if they store it to the server without an option to remove it.

Yes, I see, sorry, edited now. :-)
I wrote it from memory, and Sacrifice is still burnt in it... :-)
I have only just signed up to this company's service and already I despise them. Mandatory client software, DRM and forcefully requiring you to let them store your credit card information. I'm going to take pleasure deleting my account and uninstalling the client the second the installer download is finished and if it is tied to the client I will do everything in my power to seperate it (unless I can't be bothered, in which case I'll delete the whole lot).

Edit: I'm too tired to be bothered to even look. I think I'll just play it through once or twice then delete the account and uninstall the client. I'll still buy it from GOG.com should they ever get the rights to distribute it.

This has to be some violation of something. Not letting people remove their CC info?

Nothing is truly free.
