IMO, we could do with a community moderator or two.

Because people showing they don't enjoy your ridiculous mod-bait threads is totally a great reason to plaster more of it across our forum. As are moderator warnings.

I completely agree with everything in the OP of this thread. And I remember the "roleplaying grope" thread, and it showed a serious lack of class. I believe I posted in it, although it loses the effect since GR 'destroyed' the evidence. Betcha GOG has backups they could glance through though.

Also, GR, for the love of God, man - make a thread, post in it, and stick to that thread. You don't need a dozen threads to prove to yourself and others that people are interested in what you have to say. If nobody comes to see what you're saying in your older threads, they probably aren't interested in what you have to say in the new ones.

So others abusing the rep system is ok as long as it's against me and because they don't like my posts, yet I can't do the same? Just asking If I hear this right.

Making multiple spam threads? Some were for a purpose, to provide entertainment(the first two were at any rate).

Multiple Accounts? At least I ADMITTED to them...others have them here yet they hide behind them. At least i'm honest about it. If mine should be closed then close theirs as well.

Harassment? I made ONE thread about you over the past several months, and then I apologised about it. This in and of itself could be considered harassment as well btw. Nothing I posted in the first two threads is obscene, intimidating, threatening, illegal, etc I just made a play on words. That isn't against board policy AFAIK, and no I didn't do it to flaunt the rules. I did it to have FUN....something you obviously know nothing about with all your pompous attitude in this thread.

And no, I didn't make the first two posts to flood...they were for fun. Heck if those two are flooding then so are all of Roman's threads and half the new user's ones about questions about the site. The last two were made out of anger and I apologize for them...as if that'll make any difference in how some see me. In their eyes I am crap forever, but I still apologize for the last two threads.

Also no I don't feel immune to punishment. I also am not trolling in most(90%+) of cases....but think what you want.I made only two threads, and planned to stick to them. Then Damuna came in them and baited me into an argument along with a few others, along with the usual suspects downrepping everything in less than a minute of posting to get my goat.

No one else is abusing the rep system, you're just reading way too far into it. A bunch of people just downrate your posts as they see them come. I was one of them, I know that for a fact. I've seen multiple others agree with my POV, they're probably downrating too.

Read in my other thread.....30 downrates for ONE post of mine in less than 50 seconds? By ONLY regular users downrating stuff? I smell bullshite. Just my two cents.

I heartily agree. While at the beginning, the GOG forums were a nice place to visit, simply because the people here had some semblance of class and didn't require any real moderation, it is increasingly obvious that this is no longer the case. GameRager's conduct is just the worst example of this, but there are certainly plenty of others around here. It is well past time for the GOG guys to "grow a pair" (to use GR's eloquent term) and deal with this kind of behavior decisively and most importantly, fairly.

If they reprimand the ones abusing the rep system in the other direction then I will take whatever FAIR punishment they mete out.

Edit: While I have done and said some things I regret it's not the be all end all of what i've done here. I've helped people out as best I could and often try to add a good comment here or there to people's threads.

I don't think it entirely unlikely. Count in that theres probably a significant number of lurkers or non-regular contributors involved, and count that it seems to happen as new posts come, meaning that the thread is at the top of the forum. Consider just how many people are here, it's a lot more than you'd think to look at the number of regs judging by just how many people I know who come here. Consider people in the IRC share links to cool and/or stupid stuff all the time, and almost all of them are members of the forum by default.

Yes, but then after I uprate those massively affected posts, they AGAIN go way back under almost as quickly. Yes I may be reading too far into it but not by much.

I think it unfair that GR's post in which he defends his actions should have been downrated, he is entitled to voice his oppinion, if it was unsuitable fair enough but just because someone takes a dislike to what has been said doesnt mean it should be swept under the carpet,

Its the equivelent of GR and his alts downrating all of your posts in here cause he may not agree with them.
