I would never downrate this. While we disagree and fight on occasion we always makeup...or at least I like to think we do. :|

IMO, i'm guessing the posts where I defend my actions and/or apologize and/or take blame for some of the things I did while berating things done against me could make me look less horrible to newcomers and other regulars so they're downrated so I look like a tool/fool/arse more and give more cred to OP's posting.

Initially that post was just "grow a pair" and a veiled attack on Damuna. Now it's less worthy of the low rep, but it's too late.

cogadh: I heartily agree. While at the beginning, the GOG forums were a nice place to visit, simply because the people here had some semblance of class and didn't require any real moderation, it is increasingly obvious that this is no longer the case. GameRager's conduct is just the worst example of this, but there are certainly plenty of others around here. It is well past time for the GOG guys to "grow a pair" (to use GR's eloquent term) and deal with this kind of behavior decisively and most importantly, fairly.

You don't seem to get it: this has nothing whatsoever to do with the rep system. Until you came along going on about abusing it, absolutely no one even cared about it or paid any attention to it. The only abuse going on here is being done by you, both in the content of what you have posted and in your use of multiple accounts to counter legitimate complaints about that content filed through the rep system you care so much about. While I don't doubt that there are some people here also abusing that system, that is really minor compared to the disruption you alone have brought to these forums. Quite honestly, the only fair thing to do would be to ban you completely so the rest of us can get back to ignoring the stupid rep system and actually having enjoyable, relatively spam and porn free discussions again.

On one hand I think that there does need to be a clear line drawn. But at the same time I don't want to see things become stagnant here either. Some different perspectives and heated discussions are needed. Including those which essentially amount to "fuck GOG".

We do need some moderation though. Not GOG fanboys given a little bit of power and rubbing people's faces in it every chance they get, but people chosen because they've been a part of the community some time and know how it works and aren't about to change that.

Telling someone to grow a pair isn't that insulting....I hear it all the time(said to others of course) on even the strictest forums. Also how do I NOT know he didn't abuse the rep system? I don't know he did, but I don't know he didn't either. As such My accusation was fair and anyone could have debated me on it instead of low rating it.

Whatever....defend them because they don't disrupt your precious forum viewing. Get rid of the symptoms and not the problem.

Also if you think my posts are spam and I should be banned then let's ban all the new users posting constant repeat threads or other silly stuff like I post.

Because that's already been done and GOG has taken no action at all except to make ineffectual threats of further action.

Slander and harassment is still same by any other name or color.....

(Most of the time I act civil and don't get all riled up, and perhaps I post a silly thread or two on occasion....yet somehow i'm a monster. This I don't get, beyond the whole disrupting the forum aspect of it, which again I don't do very often or intentionally)

Careful here guys, I wonder if enforcement is really the answer here. I wouldn't say it goes against the philosophy of GOG, but suppression overcome by reconciliation are implicit themes that I take from the site. Perhaps discussion would be better.

GameRager was more aggressive in the past. He's calming down, we can just ask him nicely, again.

Not the whole forum......just a few longtimers mainly who want the forum run the way they want it run and GOD help you if you ever rock that boat, even if innocently and on rare occasion. Plus the newcomers who see their comments and believe everything they say.

I never meant anything forum insulting by the first two threads. I thought users would get a laugh and some did, before Damuna and a few others started the flaming. :\
