Orryyrro: Yes, but just before this game started the general mafia admin thread posted the Beginner's Guide to Claiming. Claiming shouldn't be done unless at L-1 with someone stating that they're willing to drop the hammer, or in situations where it will bring information that helps the town.

Zchinque: Care to say anything about, you know, the game?
Beat me to it...

that is directly relevant because people are trying to push Stuart9001 to claim.

That being said unvote and vote Stuart9001 because it appears he didn't know about when he should actually claim and still seemed apathetic about it and unhelpful.
I will rather unvote when nmillar can be lurking around with his lynch-hammer.
Yes it should be pointed out that the guide to claiming says: One shouldn't claim at L-1 algorithmically, because often there is no real danger of lynching.
Which doesn't really count on the gog forums if NMillar is playing.

Vitek: I will rather unvote when nmillar can be lurking around with his lynch-hammer.
Yes, however dropping a hammer without giving an opportunity to claim would be extremely scummy.

In fact I would say its quite the other way, only myself and Z have asked him to claim. Everyone else has supported his silence (on that topic specifically).
Sorry, I read Orrys statement wrong, I thought he meant everyone was pushing for claim when he simply said "people". My bad.
Well yeah I don't think Orryyrro's got much going for him right now. Not many other people do either but
well it doesn't really apply just to this game which isn't very fair, and I think I remember him making sense at times in this game, but he does have the reputation for lurky lurking everywhere, down on the ground and up in the air...

Stuart's response to the hullaballoo isn't reassuring. I'm not sure what I'd say if I was him, but...
aggressive defeatism. I don't know how to read it.

Crazybear:
Crazybear, are you vanished because you're confident your arch-nemesis is going to get lynched and feel no need to participate further?
@Orryyrro - So you are voting Stuart because he didn't want to claim, although you agree he shouldn't claim? Or is it because the reasoning behind hi refusal?
My attitude stems from an acceptance that, despite a generally accepted agreement that lynching active players and new players (I again can't be bothered finding quotes, I'd probably mess them up and annoy everyone anyway) It's going to come down to lynching an active newbie. It's just a part of the general level of hypocrisy that I feel has surrounded this game. Here is another example of why I feel this is the case.

If, Zchinque and clique, self contradiction is such a big issue then why was more not made of this little gem?

avatar
Zchinque: snip
It's called a meta-read - which amusingly, nmillar earlier in the game said he wasn't too fond of... snip
Was Nmillar not contradicting himself here? Here it is amusing, not cause for lynching.

This is just one example of several self contradictions I have noticed throughout the game. That is why I highlighted Vitek's post, anybody care to explain to me why [i]that[i] is not self contradition? The words do not match the earlier actions, yet no one has commented on this. Why?

Muttly you can take that question as a response to this.

Oh stop... There is only so far the newb/master thing will take you....

Now as to claiming, I have two options, I can either make a claim or not make a claim.

This close to the deadline I don't think making a claim would be of any use, as there is little time to discuss it and if needs be to find a viable alternative wagon.

I have decided therefore to not bother and to leave you all to decide whether you think the reason for the voting is strong enough to lynch on.

@joe: Defeatist? Maybe. Aggressive? Maybe. An honest appraisal of how I feel the way the game is going to go? Certainly.

Vitek: I will rather unvote when nmillar can be lurking around with his lynch-hammer.
I have no idea what you're talking about. :P
@stuart - Zchinque had pointed out both of the contradictions in nmillar's statement as well as in yours. However, this one stuck. So, I can't see why you say we are blindly following our master.

itai.sharim: @Orryyrro - So you are voting Stuart because he didn't want to claim, although you agree he shouldn't claim? Or is it because the reasoning behind hi refusal?
More to do with his reasoning, claiming in his situation would be the wrong thing to have done, but his reasoning is still scummy.
Votecount:

5 - Stuart9001 (Orry, Zchinque, Crazybear, Red Baron, Itai.sharim)
2 - Orryyrro (Muttly, Pazzer)
2 - Muttly13 (Robbeasy, Nmillar)
1 - Crazybear (Stuart)
1 - Zchinque (Peanutbrittle)
1 - Nmillar (JoeSapphire)

Not voting: Vitek

With 13 alive, it takes 7 to lynch.

Deadline is 11pm GMT 6 January.

That is 24 hours from now.

We're not being cliquey,
the game is vicious and it's hard not to take offense sometimes. Getting rid of someone on the first day, before the game's even started, that's just the way the game works.
Picking on people because of things they've said and trying to murder them for it too.
This may or may not be your last day in this game, but even if it is there will be other games. (I think mt. Sharim was lynched on his first day of his first game last time he played and he's come back for more punishment.)
Please don't feel bad because it's not personal.
Hope you can respond to this soon. Time waits for no man but Joe as they say.
