As I promised before, Thank you Zchinque for successful protect and alowing me to stay in game.
The Vanillas:

Crazybear
You are Sandra Sterling , Town Vanilla.

You are Mr Barnes’ Personal Assistant.

You have always been fiercely loyal to Mr Barnes first and the company second. Everything else (personal life, politics, whatever) comes a distant third. As befits a corporate drone, you are particularly unimaginative & single minded.

Abilities:
None

Post Restriction
During each day, you can only vote for 1 other player. You are free to unvote. However, if you decide to vote again, it must be either for the same player, or Nolynch. You can choose a different player each day.
Failure to adhere to this means your vote will be ignored for the remainder of the day.

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

Orryyrro / Twilightbard
You are John Smith , Town Vanilla.

You are a local family man.

You recently lost your job as a used car salesman.
You still go out every morning so that your wife doesn’t find out.
You have taken to gambling to try to bring home some money for your family, a plan that has not worked out well at all.
In the casino yesterday, you overheard a conversation about a big corporate launch.
Your first thought was “Great, I’ll bet that they will have a huge dinner & plenty of the rich & powerful. How can I talk my way in?”
Then a real stroke of luck.
The Sales Manager responsible for turning this launch into a profit happens to be named John Smith.
With the way things have turned out, perhaps not quite such good luck after all….

Abilities:
None

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

Vitek
You are John Smith, Town Vanilla.

You are a salesman for Everyoung Corp.

Abilities:
None

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.
In game where everyone got so rich a nice flavour (props to Rod) I have 6 words long flavour. :-p

@Rodzaju; I know you did say that but I didn't think you are serious. :-)
avatar
Vitek: @ Rodzaju; I wonder where Penut's role come from. :-) Quite funny using fake-claim as role in another game.
avatar
Rodzaju: If I recall correctly, I mentioned in #8 scumtalk that I would have to find a use for that....!!
;-}
Ok, that makes sense. When I got the PM I was like "Fortune teller? Why would they bring in a fortune teller to a drug launch? Oh geez I hope I never have to claim because they'll never believe me."

Although apparently Vitek would have gotten it right away. Awesome.

Vitek: In game where everyone got so rich a nice flavour (props to Rod) I have 6 words long flavour. :-p

@Rodzaju; I know you did say that but I didn't think you are serious. :-)
Your flavour was quite deliberate, as was your name.
I'll get to that in due course....

Anyway, The Townies:

Penutbrittle
You are Isadora Fairweather , Town Fortune Teller.

You were booked as the pre-dinner entertainment & you are now wondering why the hell you didn’t see this coming. Or maybe you did. The evening started to go wrong when you told Mr Barnes’ fortune. Try as you might, you just couldn’t manage to come out with anything that wasn’t a portent of doom. Now, as you look around the stunned room, you can see the accusations in the eyes staring back. How can you convince them that you had nothing to do with this?

Abilities:
Fortune Telling
Each night you can nominate a fellow player & read his fortune.
There is a 50/50 chance of it being good or bad.
Good fortune makes the player harder to lynch (1 more vote than normally would be required).
Bad fortune makes the player easier to lynch (1 less vote than would normally be required).

Post Restriction:
During each day, you must mention a number of specific Roles (Doc, Cop, Vanilla, etc) equal to or greater than the number of players alive at the start of that day. If you fail to do so, you MUST use your Fortune Telling ability, even if you would rather not. Failure to adhere to this is grounds for Modkilling!

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

Nmillar
You are Vincent Cambridge , Town Bureaucrat.

You are the Hotel Manager.

For such a high profile event as this one, you would be a fool not to have vetted the guest list.
You are a competent book keeper & here are your notes:

Nigel Kessack – Hotel Security Guard. Used to be a policeman until he was fired for shooting an innocent bystander.
Magnus Blanc – Room Service waiter. Often keeps an eye on the guests for you (TRACKER).
Professor Kenneth Moorcraft – Head researcher for Vitaecillin project. Has been medical DOCTOR & university professor before his current role. Far too smart for his own good!
Dr Angela Duskin – Professor Moorcraft’s research assistant. Competent enough, but a little highly strung. Perhaps the stress of the job has been getting to her.
Miss Sandra Sterling – Mr Barnes’ PA. A little OCD, but pretty harmless. Good at her job, as far as you can tell. (VANILLA)
Lawrence Jackson – Security Chief for Everyoung Corp. Efficient COP.

Abilities:
None

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

Yes, this was also inspired by my fake-claim from game 9!

Muttly13
You are Lawrence Jackson, Town Cop.

You are Head of Security for Everyoung Corp.

As well as protecting the company from industrial espionage & keeping an eye on the employees, you were also Mr Barnes’ unofficial bodyguard, so you’ve taken his death rather personally.
It is now your primary mission in life to track down those responsible & bring them to justice in a permanent way….

Abilities:
Each night you can PM me the name of another player. You will find out if they have blood on their hands or not.

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

Zchinque
You are Professor Kenneth Moorcraft, Town Doc.

You are Head Researcher on the Vitaecillin program.

As befits a medical researcher of your standing, your command of modern medicine is impressive. Your CV reads like the index of a medical encyclopedia. You know pretty much all there is to know about the human body & should you arrive on the scene fast enough, you can stop pretty much anything that can kill a man. It’s just a shame that you were too busy making eyes at the lovely young waitress to notice the demise of your boss.

Abilities:
Each night you can PM me the name of another player. If they were due to become an unfortunate fatality, you will be able to save them.

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

Joesapphire
You are Magnus Blanc, Town Tracker.

You are the Room Service Waiter.

The down side of the job is that you are often called all over the hotel at a moment’s notice, generally when it is least convenient. On the other hand, you do get to exercise your curiosity & keep an eye out for guests behaving out of the ordinary. To the regular guests, you are discretion itself, but a quiet word to hotel management has avoided official blushes more than once.

Abilities:
Each night you can PM me the name of another player. If they meet with anyone during the night, you will know about it.

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

Robbeasy
You are Dr Angela Duskin, Town Backup Doc.

You are a Research assistant on the Vitaecillin program.

While a competent Dr in your own right, you have been completely overshadowed by the brilliant Professor Moorcraft. So much so that you have started to doubt your own abilities. Perhaps you only got the position because he noticed your pretty face. You are so in awe of the Professor that you will do nothing to draw attention to yourself at his expense. However, should anything happen to him you will do what you can to fill his shoes.

Abilities:
While Professor Moorcraft is alive, you have no abilities.
If he dies, you become the Town Doc.
At this point, you may PM me the name of another player each night. If they were due to become an unfortunate fatality, you will be able to save them. However, you confidence is not what it once was. You will need to keep an eye on them to make sure they pull through, so any abilities that they have will be cancelled for that night.

Post Restriction
You would never harm Professor Moorcraft. If you should become aware of his identity, you may never vote to lynch him. If you have a vote on him, you must immediately unvote. Failure to adhere to this will leave you so wracked with guilt that you will be unable to utilize your Doc skill for the remainder of the game.

Win Condition:
UNLESS you are replaced or modkilled, you win when all threats to the town are eliminated, whether you are still alive or not.

The funny thing about Vitek's meta read of me is that i'd purposely changed the way I did my reads this game. As played with about half the people before so wanted to try and avoid doing meta reads. Of course that didn't matter once I found out I was mafia. But decided to stick with it and see if I liked it better.

Thanks Rodzaju for an enjoyable and interesting game :)
Overall, I'm happy with the way it went.

The only thing that didn't work was the name game.
I was hoping that Nmillar would come under pressure early on.
He would hint that he had inside info, or just start spilling his guts.
This would have enabled Itai to start connecting Nmillar's info to players, giving the scum a heads up.
Having 2 players with the same name (& 1 with a suspicious lack of flavour) was just to mess with you...
;-}

The other downside was the 2 players just dropping out, without any warning.
Not sure what I could do about that though.

Ha! I actually missed this the first time - I just thought it was details at the end of John Smith's role. Poor Vitek!

Reading over all the PM I remember how I was expected to start the game without knowing my role ¬_¬ eh Rod?

Looking at it now it doesn't seem as high powered as I expected. It was a lucky town I think! A very well co-ordinated Town! Go Town!

Tracker's are fairly powerful, it's just depending on catching the right people. No pesky sanities to worry about, and you can catch good flavor information. It just takes a bit more work to get stuff out of.
Good game - good win Town.

Good job Stuart flipped scum or that could have been a close one...

fyi....

protected/blocked Vitek night 2 - flavour told me he was town (breadcrumbed it post 683, p35 - i think everyone but Muttly saw it....first paragraph, start of each sentence).

protected/blocked Muttly night 3 - knew it would nullify his role but also knew he was prime Mafia target (i think they went for him, flavour tells of door handle being rattled).

protected/blocked Twilight night 4 - picked a possible Mafia to try and stop the kill - got wrong one, was offed myself.....

@Rod - cheers for making me out to be a right slut...;o))

Did you craft that role especially for him?

hm.. you're forgiven. Good use of vanilla roles I suppose. Vanilla-with-a-bit-extra. Could have helped or hindered town. As it went it helped I think.

Ah It takes a truly excellent mod to host a whole game with no dropouts, you can't be expected to have that masterful command and authority on your first game. ;-)

Felt the need to baron your post. I hope you'll forgive me.

Zchinque! Zchinque your doctoring was magnificent!

Can't always be helped though, so it's not worth worrying about it. Real life always pulls unexpected crap.

The level of co-ordination in the night actions was amazing, as you will see....

Night 1:
Muttly investigates Red_Baron

Rather than retire to your room immediately, you decide to pay Red_Baron a visit. Over a night cap you chat about nothing in particular. You know that he is a killer. Everyone saw him do it. What jumps out at you is that he does not seem to show any of the usual signs of remorse. You head back to your room with a bad feeling. This is NOT the first life he has ended.

Joesappire Tracks Muttly
That Muttly bloke has you worried. In the bar, he seemed to be very drunk, but hadn’t actually managed that many drinks. He is either a real light-weight or he was faking it. Why would he do that? Perhaps you ought to keep an eye on him to find out…. Your concens seem justified when he walks straight past his own door & heads on to another room. You watch for a while to see where he will go next. Then a problem occurs to you. If you are out watching Muttly, is anyone out watching you? You call it quits for the night.

You Tracked Muttly13. He visited Red_Baron.

Zchinque protects Vitek (& gets killed)
You must have drunk far more than you should have. You find yourself in the wrong corridor, on the wrong floor. As you stagger around, trying to find your room, you see an open door ahead. Even in your befuddled state, you this seems odd. You decide to check it out. As you approach the room, someone leaves, pushing a cleaners cart. Inside the room, there is a figure motionless on the bed. A feeling of dread comes over you. Then he rolls over. He is just sleeping. Hang on, cleaners normally wait until the room is empty, don’t they? You dash back out of the room, but the intruder has vanished.

You have Protected Vitek.

You finally find the right corridor. Turning the corner to your room, you bump into Red_Baron. You mumble something about getting lost. “You too, huh?” is his reply. You just can’t get your card into the slot & start to wonder if this is the right room after all. “Here, let me help you with that.” Red_Baron takes the card & gets your door open. You collapse on the bed without even checking whether the door is closed. Not that it matters, because you’ll never wake up…..

You have been murdered.

Penutbrittle divines Nmillar
On the way to your room, you find yourself in the lift with Nmillar. It’s strange, but after the events of the day, you suddenly feel tremendously at peace. You can see a warm glow surrounding him. Is this a reaction to the stress & guilt you feel about Mr Barnes? Or is it due to the alcohol? No. This is your talent at work again. You finally have some good news. Some higher power is protecting Nmillar. As you stumble down the hallway, you now have another quandary. Do you tell him?

You have Divined Nmillar. He has Good Fortune.

Red_Baron kills Zchinque
Today has been a weird day for you. A murder in your hotel & YOU seem to be the closest thing around to a cop. It’s just like the old days. The memories of your last few days on the job come flooding back. That feeling of power, to end a human life…. But hang on. There’s a killer here & it ISN’T you!
Then it all kicked off in the bar & you glassed that guy. It was almost hypnotic, watching his blood soak into the rug…. Unfortunately, just like the blood, the rush gets absorbed far too quickly. But that’s OK. You’ve planned for this. You have, in your room, a silenced pistol ready for the occasion. And now you can pass the blame onto the bastard who had the audacity to kill someone in YOUR hotel.
But who is your target? HIM! Zchinque has been droning on all night, boring everyone stupid with his theories, like this was some kind of intelectual exercise, rather than a crimescene. He has to go.

What a bore some drunks can be. It seems to take forever for everyone to get into their rooms, but eventually the hallway is silent. You grab you gun & start the hunt… Then you get to Zchinque’s room, only to find him not there. You are on the verge of finding an alternative target when he comes staggering round the corner, barely upright. He pretty much walks right into you. You help him into his room, give him a quick shove on to the bed and whip out your pistol. A double tap to the back of the head and it’s done. It’s a high better than any drug. It’s just a shame that it won’t last….

You have Killed Zchinque.

Itai.sharim investigates Red_Baron
You follow Red_Baron to his room. Something about him has piqued your curiousity. As he fumbles with his keycard, you make a note of the room number. Back in your room, you take a long shower to help you sober up & kill some time. Once you’re ready & the other guests have had time to fall asleep, you creep back down to the Reception desk. You sit at your computer & punch in Red_Baron’s room number. The name of the guest is displayed: Nigel Kessack.

Pazzer attempts to kill Vitek
That Vitek chap has to go. No doubt about it. You collect your cleaners cart and head to his room. Letting yourself in with your passkey, you dither for a few moments over the best way to do the deed. You make your mind up & grab a few items from the cart. You force the end of a funnel into his mouth and reach for the bottle of bleach.

What’s that? There’s someone on the hallway! You left the room door open! What are you going to do now? It’s one thing to murder a drunk, sleeping man, but can you really take on someone who is awake and alert? You quickly repack your cart & leave the room. You keep your head down & don’t see who it was that disturbed you. You will have to finish this job another time.

You have FAILED to kill Vitek.

Stuart Watches Zchinque
After the events in the Dining Room, you have to keep your head down & your eyes open for a while. At least until things calm down a bit.
That Zchinque bloke seems a bit too smart for his own good. Better keep an eye on him. Lucky for you, his room is just across the hall from yours.
You grab a drink, pull a chair up & settle down to a night with your eye to the spyhole in your door.
For the first hour, there is nothing to see at all. You are starting to doze off, when a commotion brings you back to full alertness.
You can see Zhcinque and another man in the doorway to Zchinque’s room. You can’t quite make out who it is, until a few moments later when Red_Baron strides back out of the door.

You have Watched Zchinque. He was visited by Red_Baron.

I think this was more aimed at Crazybear and stuart who vanished without trace. And I suspect on stuart's case it wasn't because of RL.

I think town had too many PR's but overall I liked this game. Flavour was nice, consistent, made sense and I had no problems with mod(we even invented little night role for me :-)).

Yeah, I wish Stuart had remained calm about the whole ordeal, his overreacting was what got him lynched, I don't think he could have explained it away a second time. The first I'm surprised you guys bought to be honest.

The town had a lot, but it didn't feel like it was that bad, it kinda made the Vanilla's stand out because we'd look odd with no abilities.

That said, I'm still amazed that I survived day 3.
