PetrusOctavianus: Isn't it about time all the giveaways, Steam key threads and recent spam threads by ne_zavarj find their own sub forum?
Or at least make it possible to filter out threads based on keywords?
Momo1991: I'd like to point out that because of your commentary, ne_zavarj has cancelled all of the currently running giveaways of games donated by their DEVELOPERS. I was under the impression that this forum was mostly about games and these giveaways in particular are all about new games.
Personally, I enjoy these giveaways since they let me know about games I've never heard about and they give struggling developers another source of public relations here on the GOG forum. I've never seen a blue GOG complain nor do many of us consider them Spam. In fact, I have made a point to write to many of those developers to thank them even if their game isn't something I'd enjoy playing. And I've really enjoyed it when a dev joins in the thread giveaway - sometimes with useful or just interesting information.
Frankly, I'm a bit disturbed by this whole discussion especially when it specifically calls out a person who does a lot of hard work to encourage developers to donate free games to the GOG forum.
To be honest I had no idea of the excact nature of those giveaways.
I was just tired of the whole main forum being cluttered by gifting threads.
My wish was not to stop people from gifting games, but to make the forum less cluttered.
A solution to the problem, albeit a rather crude one, was found to the problem, so at least for me and some others something good came out of it.
In hindsight I'm sorry I targeted one individual and called it spamming, but I prefer being upfront about it, and it
was after all ne_zavarj's numerous similar posts that was the final straw for me.
I think it's rather petty to recall the giftings based on my comment, though. I'm the last person to be affected by that.
