Funny thing is I can get Kotor 1 working on Vista but not stable on Win 7 (32-bit) but with Kotor II it's the other ways around

Yeah, weird, because I can run Kotor 1 on Win7 but not Vista for some reason ... might have something with the graphic mode (OpenGL?) although that alone is no excuse since I think I can run other games that require OpenGL. Maybe it's my graphics card, I dunno, but it won't even start on my Vista rig (while it does on Win7).

The Legend of Kyrandia

it's a westwood studios point and click style adventure game series (three games in total).

I'm kinda surprised it wasn't on the list of EA releases, it would have fit right in after Lands of Lore.

Wow, I completely forgot about Hexplore. I still have that CD somewhere, I think, though it isn't usable, so I would love to have it here.

Grandia 2. It's about as Japanese as it gets, but has a unique (and very fun) battle system, and the translation was top-notch. I played it on PS2, but I know there was a PC port.

I played for the pc and it was really great. Especially the combat system.

I think I've heard of that one. Wasn't that some sort of JRPG series like Dragon Quest? I think it was supposed to be pretty influential, but they never brought it over here for some reason. Maybe GOG can get Carpe Fulgur to do a localization? Capitalism HO! :o)

Actually, Wizardry is a game series made in the US by Sir-Tech that started in the early eighties. It was one of the earliest first-person dungeon crawlers, and went on to inspire the similar game series Bard's Tale and Might & Magic. The Japanese angle you heard about probably came from the fact that Wizardry was ported over there and became hugely popular.

I still have my original disk for this. I know it worked in XP.. but I doubt it'd be smooth for W7, I'll probably have to wait for a GOG release on this one to play it again.

I'll have to dig it out to try it sometime.
