After downloading and installing Windows Movie Maker i'm now forced to install Intel Management Engine Interface. I can go into Windows 7's Update system to un-check the box, but when I go back the box is checked anyways. I really don't need this from what i've heard and i've even heard of a few people having hardware problems from having it installed. (though that could be unrelated) How do I keep it from being installed when turning off my PC?

Right-click on the update and choose Hide update; it will then stop showing up in Windows Update (hidden updates can be restored from the link on the Windows Update sidebar).

I saw that option earlier, but I thought it only visibly hid it but would still install anyways. Much thanks for the solution. I'm still baffled as to why it tried to become a mandatory update after installing Windows Movie Maker, that update had always been optional for me since I built this PC in 2012.
