New article on forbes regarding GOG

http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2013/05/30/good-old-games-gog-com-and-the-drm-free-revolution/

“DRM solves piracy like a bag of concrete solves hunger.”
Yet another article manages to get the name wrong :)

GOG is still really well-known around the net as Good Old Games. It will probably wear off eventually, but the acronym worked really well, imo.

"GOG.com (short for Good Old Games) is a digital distributor of both old and new PC titles." Well, it appears GOG could have kept the acronym and could still be known for selling new titles. ;-)

I asked TET about that and he informed me that it usually takes around 5 years before any rebranding actually sticks :D
Just to clarify, if you see any address that starts with "http://www.forbes.com/sites/", yeah that's not an article, that's a blog. Anyone can register and become a "contributor" and write whatever they want. Doesn't make what they say wrong, but when they see the name Forbes people get the idea it's a proper report by a journalist, and that's not the case.
I never understood why GOG needed to name change.

Here in Australia we have a political party called the Liberal Party, but they have nothing to do with liberalism, and no one questions it :)
Very glad to see that Gog is getting some press. American companies could certainly learn a lesson or two from this Polish company. It is not a real deep lesson. Just do not bite the hand that feeds you.

"At this point, CD Projekt’s influence and respect had grown by leaps and bounds, to the point where the Polish Prime Minister gave president Obama a copy of The Witcher 2 as a gift on his visit to Poland." Too funny.

I understand why they decided to rebrand the site. But what I don't understand is why it's wrong for people to interpret "GOG" to mean "Good Old Games", since as far as I know, the GOG team never made any statements to the contrary.

Just beacuse the site is now officialy known simply as GOG doesn't mean that GOG doesn't stand for "Good Old Games".
